I can never imagine something happening to my parents and thinking about what may have happened to this girl's parents makes me feel so bad for her. First her real parents either died or decided not to keep her so they put her up for adoption and now to make matters worse, the parents who adopted her may be DEAD.
The top thing that bothers me with this book is the fact that the moment she realized that a accident had occurred she flashed back to the time that she was adopted. Even though I had enjoyed that part of the story, I really wanted to find out what is going to happen to her now that her parents are gone.

I never thought that teachers are able to label their students like that, calling them Weirdos and names like that. I am very surprised that no one had found dell dukes folder yet, he must hide his belongings very well and very carefully.
I feel very awkward talk to teachers and just siting talking like that so I can imagine the awkwardness that willow was feeling just sitting there, alone in a room with some councilor that she never even met before.

I love how the writer described a lot of things. It allowed me to imagine how people really looked without physically seeing them and how they acted without actually knowing them. At first I was kinda annoyed that the author flashed back and didn't tell the reader what actually happened but now I am glad that the flashback happened because it explained how everything began and how Willow came to know everyone.

I know this may sound bad but I am sad and sorta happy in a way. Although it's wrong to say that your happy about a accident sounds so wrong but I can't really find the the right word for what the m feeling. I'm glad that Willow's family dosent have to worry about her mother and her mother dosent have to go though that pain but I'm sad that once again Willow doesn't have a real family. This sorta reminds me of the outsiders because their parents died in a auto wreck but at least in the outsiders they have the gang for a family, Willow has nobody left.

I think that even though Mr.Duke is a counselor he is not very good at controlling the children. For example how he is allowing this teenage girl to control him and blackmail him. I also think that Mai is really pushing her luck with dell duke. She is actually acting like a brat thinking that she can get anything she asked for because dell is afraid of saying no.

Even though they wanted to give Willow Chance a home and make her happy she had no choice of who to go with, because of this I don't agree with the way that they handled the situation. I would have liked it if they gave her a choice of the family she would be put with. To me putting the child with who they wan't is the best way to make them happy and enjoy themselves more

How did the setting affect the conflict in the story?

In this story the setting was a big part of it. One reason why the setting was a big thing was because Willow had to to be in a proper setting to say with Mai and her family. In my opion I think that even though Dell duke had a actual apartment, the service workers would not allow her to stay there since it is so dirty and messy.
