Now:   Women in previous centuries were expected to depend on their husbands or fathers for everything they needed, and were supposed to remain involved only in household affairs. Because of this, it was presumed that an education was improper and unnecessary for women. There were some women who disagreed with this, and ignored society's view. The wife of a Mr. Hopkins had been "giving herself wholly to reading and writing; and she had written many books," Although many disapproved of this, Mr. Hopkins' wife educated herself, and paved the way for other women to do so. Another example is in "The Trial of Anne Hutchinson." Anne Hutchinson organized meetings for women where the church sermons were repeated and discussed, sometimes even challenged. Because she did not conform to the role society thought she should play, she introduced the idea that women had a say in things and that women were smart enough and able to think for themselves.

Back in the 19^th century women didn’t have the right to choose their own husband. They were forced to marry a man that would provide them with the bare necessities. For them, women only appeared to be useful when it came to giving birth.

But this is no longer the 19^th century, the world has changed and so have women. After years of protests now women have a say when it comes to their future. They don’t get married because it’s mandatory but because they develop actual feelings for a person. They are not seen as baby-machines but as  human beings equal to men.

First of all, from the day it was born, the child spends a lot of time  with the members of its family. Thus it is greatly influenced by it, especially at a young age. Particularly the relationships between its two parents or with its siblings, the educational and socioeconomic status are factors that shape its character. 

By growing up, the teenager gets in touch with his/her peers and starts socializing. The time spent with friends gets longer. At the same time he/she questions the standards that family taught his/her in order to be and feel different and independent. He /She wants to adapt into the environment that he /she lives in.

In conclusion, both family and friends – peers affect a person’s personality.  However, he /she has to be really careful with his friend choices if he/ she wants to receive a good influence.

Nowadays, the position of women is much better and very different from the past. Today women have the freedom of the choice about their marriage. They choose by themselves the man who will be their husband. They have the opportunity to have many relationships before their final decision for their marriage. Nobody can tell them what to do and they usually are married with people who they love and care about and not because of their money and the good economic situation.

Elisabeth is the protagonist of a romantic novel named ''Pride and Prejudice''. This story takes place in England during the late 18th century. 

Elisabeth doesn't have the behaviour that every young lady had at that time. She is strong-minded because she refused to dance with Mr. Darcy. She reveals prejudice, but only after being insulted by him. This means that she was for that time an independent and confident woman that didn't care only about her wedding. Moreover, Elisabeth is intelligent because she seems to be a good judge of other people's character. She understands what is right or wrong. She engages in witty conversations and dialogues, which aren't very common for a dame.  Furthermore, she didn't care about the social status and the fortune that somebody has. She judges people, like Mr. Darcy, based on their behaviour. She is not impressed by fortune or social status, unlike her mother and many other women of her time. 

Of course, no one is perfect and this is why we saw some of her mistakes and wrong judgements. At the beginning, she was not able to recognize that Darcy had changed and improved and he loved her. Because of Darcy's first behaviour, she thought that he was a selfish, narrow-minded and prejudiced man. 

To conclude, Elizabeth seems to have been a revolutionary woman in her era. She didn’t care about the status quo and the rules that women had to follow. She was a dynamic woman with a strong personality. Through Elizabeth's behaviour we understand that we should not judge people based on first impressions. We shouldn’t take into account if somebody has a certain social status but how he treats others.

To begin with, Jane presents Elizabeth as an intelligent and independent woman as she seems to be a good judge of other people’s characters as well as she refuses to dance with Darcy and accuses him of having a propensity to hate everybody. 

On the contrary, she is very proud of herself as she can’t forget the way Darcy has treated her at the beginning of the novel. And she is also prejudiced against him and she disapproves of his every move and opinion. 

To sum up, she is sincere and honest because in the end she admits her feelings for Darcy. 

In the movie “Pride and prejudice” we follow Elizabeth, a clever and beautiful woman and Darcy, an arrogant man that thinks he's superior to others because he is intelligent and wealthy. However, despite this Darcy slowly falls in love with Elizabeth's charm and her goodness of heart. In the end, he decides to propose to her, but she refuses him because she believed he wasn't able to change his thoughts and way of judging people.

Although he gets turned down, after a while he proposes again and this time, she accepts him as a husband. One of the reasons that made Elizabeth say yes was her understanding that Darcy is not an arrogant person because he wanted to, but because he was taught this way. She also saw his potential and desire to make a change in his character, namely from a man that believed himself as the sole perfection to someone of honor, respecting others and this thing made Elizabeth fall in love with him even more than she was before.

In conclusion, Elizabeth helped Darcy become another person, simply by showing him the true nature of a humble and simple human being.

 

Joker is one of the best films that has came out. It is a drama, which was released in 2019. It is directed by Todd Philips and Joaquin Phoenix plays the role of Joker. This film is based on the comic books of dc universe.

In Gotham, Arthur Fleck a comedian, who works as a clown, with a mental illness is mistreated by society. Then after a series of events he becomes a criminal. This is where his alter ego -The Joker- comes. 

Joker is an amazing film which transports you to a 1980’s city. It talks about the mistreatment of humans and the problem of social inequality. The direction is just thrilling, and we can see the director’s unique perspective. The acting is also of a very high standard and Phoenix’s performance is one of the best that the world has seen.

I would highly recommend Joker and it is worth your time. It has a lot of twists and you will never expect what will happen next. I am sure you will not regret watching it.

Notebook is a dramatic romance movie by Nicolas Sparks. It is set in South Carolina. The main characters are a poor boy, Noah and a rich girl, Allie.

In the film we watch how they meet and fall in love. Despite the difficulties he promises to restore a house for them. But Allie's parents forbid her from seeing him and take her away. After a few years they meet again and they decide to be together.

The movie talks about true love that can last throughout the years despite the difficulties. My favourite part is when they meet again and go in a rowboat among dozens of swams on a lake.

I would recommend this movie to teenage girls or to everyone who like love stories.

 

Thor: Ragnarok is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It is an American superhero movie, in which stars Chris Hemsworth, as Thor, the god of thunder. It is the sequel to “Thor”(2011) and “Thor:The Dark World”(2013). It was produced by Marvel studios in 2017.

 

In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor must escape the alien planet Sakaar in time to save Asgard from Hela and the impending Ragnarok.Two years after the battle of Sokovia, Thor is imprisoned by the fire demon Surtur who reveals that Thor's father Odin is no longer on Asgard. He explains that the realm with the aid of which he can get back will soon be destroyed during the prophesied Ragnarok. Thor frees himself, defeats Surtur and takes his crown, believing he has prevented Ragnarök, but that was not the case.

 

I would highly recommend Thor:Ragnarok especially if you are into science-fiction and action movies. It will definitely have you on the edge of your seat, even though you have to find it out for yourself.

The plot involves the two main characters falling in love in the 1940s. Young Noah Calhoun sees Allison on an island and instantly approaches her. They start liking each other and having a lot of fun while being together. After they part ways, Noah writes a letter to her every day for a year, but it is later revealed that Allie's mother had been intercepting the letters so that they never reach Allie. After 365 letters, Noah gives up and stops writing. While apart, Noah enlists with Fin, his best friend, to fight in World War 2, where Fin loses his life.

This film is well-worth seeing. Except for it being just a simple romantic movie, there is some action in it, making it even more fascinating. I highly recommend it.
