Jackie Robinson was a Black male born in Georgia in 1919, Jackie went to UCLA where he played football and baseball. After UCLA Jackie enlisted in the army, when training started he was ordered to sit in the back of the bus as colored people had to during that time, but Jackie denied sitting in the back by his instructor so he was taken to court and was not guilty. Jackie got dismissed from the army. Jackie wanted something to do so he went to play baseball, he joined the negro leagues and signed with the Kansas City Monarchs.

Jackie Robinson's performance was great but Jackie hated being in a league where he just had to play with colored people, Jackie wanted to play with white people. so Jackie Robinson tried out for different teams until Branch Rickey heard about Robinson and gave him a chance to play with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Branch Rickey saw talent in him so he signed a contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Jackie Robinson's performance was amazing so that led many colored fans to see minor league games and major league games.

Branch Rickey wanted to help Jackie Robinson play baseball. Jackie Robinson was a colored baseball player who played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and was made fun of and mocked. Branch Rickey was the manager for the Brooklyn Dodgers and he wanted some black talent in baseball. Branch Rickey sent scouts to one of Jackie Robinson's games and that's when he was noticed. Jackie Robinson had a meeting with Branch Rickey and there they discussed how Jackie could not fight back against people who were throwing food at him or yelling bad words at him. Jackie Robinson went on to become a great baseball player because Branch Rickey gave him a chance.

Jackie Robinson was the first African American to play Major League baseball which caused a lot of good and bad changes. One of the bad changes was that people would call Jackie Robinson bad words, throw food at him, and hit him with the baseball when he came up to bat. Jackie was hit a total of 9 times during the season and was being mistreated by many people. Also, there were some good effects of Jackie Robinson.
