For our first lesson, we watched two videos. One was on the Quran and the other was on Iman, Islam and Ihsan.

Then, each group had a discussion about the videos and summarized it into brief points:

- Al-Quran is a book of guidance for humans

- The Quran binds us together as a community because Quran is not only for Muslims but for all humankind.

- In the Quran, we are commanded by Allah to perform 5 times daily prayer

- We are all united in the salah and we shall believe that no one is superior to us, as we are all equal in this world as a servant.

- The salah will prevent us from being racist, discriminating, or hating people who are different from us.

- Allah also mentioned in the Quran about Ramadhan.

- Ramadhan is the month of the Quran when we should try to increase our ibadah and try to khatam the Quran.

- This will train us to at least read the Quran one page per day as there are many advantages of reading it.

- In Madinah, a mysterious man comes to the Prophet and asks him about Islam

- The Prophet explained to him the 5 pillars of Islam which are shahadah, prayer, fast, zakat, and pilgrimage for those who can afford it.

- The man then asks, "Tell me about Iman".

- The Prophet then answers with the 6 pillars of Iman which are belief in Allah, belief in angels, belief in kitab, belief in the Prophets, belief in the day of judgment, belief in qada and qadar.

- The man then asks "Tell me about Ihsan".

- The Prophet answered Ihsan is the highest thing in Islam. It is when we do virtuous deeds and worship Allah as if we can see Him. Even if we cannot see Him, indeed He can see us.

- The man who comes to the Prophet is Angel Jibril.

For lesson four, we discussed the importance of sustainability in Islam. We talked about how we can appreciate nature and how nature is Allah's property and we're responsible for it.

During our first class, we had a discussion regarding different virtues, and my group and I chose humility as our topic of discussion.

When it was my turn to speak, I chose to talk about a personal experience that made me realize the importance of humility.

For our second class, we once again discussed different virtues, and I chose to talk about Al-Ta'ha and Al-Jihad.

I talked about the crisis in Palestine and how despite the pain and suffering, the Palestinians refuse to back down and continue to fight for their religions, homeland and freedom.

4th Lesson

For our fourth lesson, we were asked to find a song that covers different Islamic virtues. My group and I chose In Sha Allah by Maher Zain.

The song features reliance on Allah and Taqwa, reminding us that no matter how dark or unhappy our lives may be at times, we'll always have Allah by our side.
