I think subsoil is the most important soil horizon because topsoil is where the organic matter happens which is the roots of any plants above Horizon O. If we didn't have topsoil/Horizon A the roots would go down into horizon B/subsoil which is where not much organic matter is. Also Horizon A/topsoil has lots of organic matter so without it there would be little to no separation in where the organic matter starts or begins. Horizon A/ topsoil is not the biggest actually the second smallest but doesn't mean it has no importance in it. That's why I think Horizon A/ topsoil is the most important soil horizon.

I think that bedrock and organic matter are both equal in importance. Bedrock is important because it is the strongest layer which helps prevent anything above it from collapsing. It also is very compacted which helps things like water and organisms from seeping through the cracks. Next, I think that organic matter is important because it provides nutrients to the soil which keeps it moist so it doesn't dry out. I also think it is important because it has living organisms that help decompose waste.

I think horizon A/ topsoil because of the humus which is decomposed organic matter, and the decomposers, like worms, help decompose the organic matter.Another reason is because horizon A is moist, and has a lot of nutrients, which helps roots from plants grow.

Horizon A because all of the organic material is in that layer. So, if we did not have that layer all of the decomposers would be nowhere and Horizon O is part of A and O has all of the organic material and things that we need to live. This is why Horizon A is the most important.

I think that horizon r is the most important. I think it's most important because it is like the foundation of the other horizons. Horizon r is made up of rock and the rock helps it keep every other horizon in place. It also is a very sturdy layer and protects the other layers from collapsing. I think that the most important horizon is horizon A because it is the horizon that decomposes dead animals, plant, and any organic matter and without horizon A the earth would be a big clump of dead organic matter.

BRAEDON JOHNSON: I think horizon R is the most important because if there was no rock to hold the bottom together all of the other horizons would fall and mix up. So every so often there would be something happening to the land causing everything to sink and even maybe causing sinkholes. This could mess up homes gardens and even important historical monuments.

I think Horizon A is the most important. A couple reasons why is it has a lot of rich nutrients and a lot of organic material and mineral components. Some other reason are a bunch of decomposers live there and without the decomposers we would not have a lot of Food and rich soil. The reason is think Horizon 0,B,C and R not as important because have smaller organic matter and a lot less decomposers. That is why I think Horizon A is the most important

I think it's topsoil because almost all the roots are in a topsoil no crops will be able to grow and no trees so no oxygen so unless you can less you can live without oxygen you'er cook and I forgot to mention food no food no nutrients but you mint be thinking we still have meet no because no food for them

I think the most important soil horizon is the Bedrock.

Why is because....

First, It is the foundation of the soil horzion.

Second, it is the bottom layer and has to be able to stand the heay 4 soils.

Third, it has larger rocks so it can withstand the other soils.

This is why I think bedrock is the most important soil horizon

I think the most important soil horizon is horizon A. I think it's A, because without A there will be no food, roots, trees, etc. I know a lot of people will say bedrock is the most important because it supports us. But without any food or oxygen from trees we can't survive. Animals won't have anything to eat, plants won't have any rich soil to live in, and us humans won't have anything if they don't meet their needs. That is why I think horizon A is the most important.

I think horizion R/ bedrock because, it is tightly bound and it can keep all the other layers wich are much looser compacted. It also lowers the chance of each layer moving around a lot and mixing together.

Horizon R is solid rock so then all of the other soils can just layer up on it. It is also made up of large rocks and large minerals. Horizon R is also very compacted together. there is no best horizon but if I had to choose it would be R. R is where all our minerals come from and without that our society would suffer. some may argue A, because it houses all organic life, and that is true, but horizon R is just much more important

I believe the most important soil horizon is the bedrock layer. I believe this because it is the foundation of all the other horizons. It is also where the weathered rock comes from. It is first broken down and then goes up the layers. The parent material today was originally the bedrock layer. It will eventually break down and become organic material at the topsoil, and the process will start again. That's why I think the bedrock layer is the most important soil horizon.
