Their diet primarily consists of high-quality sinking goldfish pellets but in the wild they eat insects, larvae, algae, and plant matter near the bottom of the water.

I thought very hard about choosing each thing for my Lionhead goldfish and why. For compatibility I chose the White cloud mountain minnows, Orandas, and hillstream loaches because they don't swim too fast and won't harm my fish. As for the decor, I chose that specific type of decor because Lionheads are very anti-social and need places to hide and feel secure, I wanted to make sure it not only had a hiding spot but greenery for stimulation. For the tank lighting, substrate, and all the other things regarding the tank, I chose that stuff because it ensures the safety of my fish both when I'm present or not present and it gives the fish the proper comfortability and lifestyle to ensure it lives a long life while still getting its needs met. Overall, I chose all of these things specifically because they are the requirements for my fish but still the most safe and comfortable options.
