I am writing this letter today to get a gift from Santa Claus. Last year 2021 was a battle for me, because last year the epidemic spread all over the world I couldn't go to school, I'm sad because I can't go to school, but it's okay, because thanks to online learning, I know a lot more. More computer stuff. This Christmas I hope Santa will give me Lioleo English adventure, the set is produced by Lioleo kids channel, this set has 2 sets of alphabet cards, 2 sets of function cards and badges of Lioleo kids channel, how to play is very cool. Easy, just download the application, then select the item, select the letter and the function card, just need to put it in front of the screen to be able to recognize it on the phone. I love this series because every time I play I learn new words! I promise that when I receive the gift, I will study hard and study well.

My name is Nguyen Bao Minh, class 4B1 from Vinschool.

I haven't seen you in a year, how are you? This year I have grown up and I am not writing to ask for gifts from you like I did every year in the past. Instead I will tell you my changes during the 2 years of the Covid pandemic.

Covid has made us have to study online and could not go to school to meet teachers and friends. At first I was very sad and confused, and I was drawn to online games when I sat in front of the computer all day. While I studied online, I watched movies and played games. It was so much fun! As a result, I did not study as well as I could.

My mom punished me and I am determined to change by:

+ Making daily and weekly study plans and strictly following those plans;
+ Outside of school hours, I don't use the computer, but I do exercise such as playing soccer with my brother or climbing the stairs of the building. You know, every day I climb 24 floors of the building!

+ I read a lot of books to develop my language skills. This year I’m 9 years old but I have written nearly 30 poems about positive things in life.

And this is also my wish this year:

I WISH YOU COULD GET THIS POEM INTO THE HANDS OF EVERY STUDENTS WHO HAVE TO STUDY ONLINE AT HOME LIKE ME.

THE POEM IS CALLED “GIVE UP PLAYING GAMES!”

And let’s hear it:

GIVE UP PLAYING GAMES!

Playing games is harmful, my friends!

It causes us to wear glasses forever

Sitting too much hurts our spine

And stagnates our minds for long.

Games make us ignore our responsibilities with the family

And forget our learning tasks at the school

Playing games can make us violent

And games-addicts even leave their home forever

Stop playing games, my friends.

Be determined to turn off the screen

Be determined to not become an addict

And not to hate physical activities

Quit the games, you’ll find happiness again

Become intelligent and get an A-plus

Doing outdoor activities with other children

Our life will be full of fun again.

My name is Phuong Chi in class 4B2 Vinschool Green Bay. As you may know, 2021 has been a rough year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Students like me have to study online instead of going to school. We have some new teachers and new friends but we have not met in person yet. We do not have any field trips this school year, or it is just an online trip. Everything has changed but we have to adapt with it. I myself have been trying so hard. Studying online sometimes makes me tired and bored but I know it is a must for us to avoid being affected by the Covid-19 virus. Teachers help us a lot with interesting online lectures. Thanks to our great efforts, we have just finished our first term exams on time.

Things became harder for me and my family this year when my dad passed away. Then 2021 has become the worst year ever for me. I miss my dad so much but I know he is still watching over me. Therefore, I will keep trying my best to move forward.

So, Santa, I just wish that 2022 will be a brighter year for everyone and for my own family. Please, take bad things away and let good things stay long with us. That is all I wish for now.

Dear Santa Claus,
My name is Nguyen Ngoc Thao Nguyen, a student of class 3A2, Vinschool Green Bay Primary School, Hanoi, Vietnam.
As the Christmas season is coming near, I am now writing to you again like every other Christmas. How have you been ? And how have the reindeer and elves been? This Christmas, I would like to tell you how I have become mature and stronger during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Covid-19 pandemic has spread to Hanoi where my family is living, causing closure of the schools of mine and my brother. As our parents would go to work as usual, we were sent back to our homeland to be taken care of by our grandparents. Not far from Hanoi, but sometimes it takes several months for me and my bother to meet our parents due to social distancing. Every time my parents come and go, my brother keeps hugging our mother tightly without wanting to let her leave. I much miss my school teachers and friends, especially my parents. I have a lot of difficulties in learning online. My eyes are quite tired from looking at the computer screen hour after hour, my mind is tense, and my back is tired from sitting a lot. Whenever having a problem in study, I cannot easily ask my teacher, or talk directly with friends.
Dear Santa Claus!
The devastating Covid-19 pandemic has claimed many lives in our country. A lot of young people have lost their parents, or fallen into difficult circumstances or poverty because their relatives do not have jobs. However, the bravery, intelligence and solidarity of the people of our country have the opportunity to show through countless and noble deeds. The leaders and people of the whole country joined hands in the fight against the epidemic. The medical staff, doctors, military and police forces sacrifice themselves on the front lines to take care of people's health. People across the country have contributed hundreds of billions of dong to the vaccine fund to prevent the pandemic. "Leaving no one behind" is the slogan that moves the hearts of tens of millions of Vietnamese. "Doing well 5Ks" (Vietnamese abbreviations of Face mask; Disinfection; Distancing; No gatherings; and Heath declaration) is the daily routine of every citizen. The goal of "Creating community immunity" set out by the Government has created hope and belief in a beautiful future for the people of the country, including myself. I am more confident when I know that the World Health Organization and a number of countries are helping the Vietnamese people with tens of millions of doses of Covid-19 vaccines.
Dear Santa Claus!
I think studying well and strictly following the epidemic prevention regulations also contribute to the fight against the epidemic. So I shall try to adapt to online learning. Children of my age are not vaccinated, so I always remember and implement 5Ks as instructed by my grandparents. I regularly do exercises, eat rich nutrient food to improve health. I take care of my brother so that my parents can be at work without anxiety. I have a strong belief that with the cooperation of the whole world in fighting the epidemic, it will definitely be pushed back and children can go to school again. I hope when the world is at peace, I could visit your homeland in Finland, a country which is far away from Vietnam, with you in a sleigh pulled by reindeers, walking on the white snowy roads.

Christmas is coming very near! Please give me a little pink doll to show you note that I have become mature and stronger during the Covid-19 pandemic. I would also ask you to bring bigger Christmas gifts to the little children who have lost their parents and relatives because of coronavirus and children in difficult circumstances. They really need a warm embrace in this cold winter. I also wish that an individual or organization would come forward with donations in setting up a fund to support them. I would donate 500 thousand dong from my New Year's lucky money to such fund.
