In the neighborhood I grew in has the 2nd largest oil spill in the country. When the tanks were built they had no bottoms. So the oil would soak into the ground. It did so for decades until it was noticed. The rate of stomach cancer in adults in my neighborhood is absurd. The Hudson yards project is a massive project in Manhattan along the High Line. The investors had to get loans from several banks. The project has sealed 25 billion dollars. I am excited to see the project finished and what it will look like. Skanska is one of the companies I want to work for. A branch opened up in Maspeth, Queens. One of the largest companies in the world just open a branch 20 min walk away. they have tons have work all over the world and a lot in the motherland Poland. Shimizu is a company based out of Japan that has sales of 15 billion dollars annually. I know them for their crazy mega project concepts. One being putting a solar panels belt around the moon to harvest energy. Another is making a city inside of a pyramid in Tokyo bay. Its cool stuff.
