As with many such unexamined remembrances, one wishes the artist could have seen past his misty-eyed nostalgia and also cried with laughter at the shambolic spectacle of his stumbling, graceless dancers (I did). When in actual sync, their stiff movements respond as much to electronic bass lines as to their being literally drunk or stoned out of their brains on ecstasy. Subversive this film is not, unless youth and drug culture is your idea of sticking it to the man. Rhythmically speaking, it doesn’t hold a glow stick to Soul Train.

Based around the old town square Saray Azadi in Sulaymaniyah. the site was a place of civil unrest and protest around the government. the show consists of drawings, sculptures, documentation videos and installation of small TVs with coloured acetate. Artist and students were invited to "Freedom Square" to come with a magnifying glass and a book of their choice. Birmingham housing department has now been asked to move the family from their semi-detached house in Quinton.
    Despite a visit from the Bishop of Aston who performed an exorcism, Mrs Dorothy Denis and her husband James believe that the spirit still roams their pre-war home, banging doors, moving ornaments, and calling out their names .
    Their three children aged between three and fourteen all say they have seen the ghost- a plump elderly man with a walking stick- in various rooms at 15 Dufton road, where the family have lived for two years.
    The housing department is still considering the request for rehousing, but last night Mrs Denis said "We cannot stay here any longer. We are worried the effect it will have on the children and even us."
    "I dont want people to think we're trying it on. Anybody can come here and listen for themselves"
    The couple believe the ghost is that of a former tenant of the house whose wife an daughter died there. The man himself died in hospital nine years ago.
    "My children all see him and the youngest James sits on the bed clapping his hands and playing with him"
    Mrs Dennis said, "Our daughter Beverley, who is eight, has drawn a picture because she has seen him so often. It's dreadful living here."
    "My husband and I have to sleep apart so that we can be with the children because they are so so frightened" 
    "I like this house. It's got a lovely garden, but I can't stay here," she added.
    A neighbour, Mrs Beatrice Saunders confirmed to the family that the description matched a former tenant whose first name was Albert.
    "No one has stayed in the house longer than two years after he died," she said "the last woman told me she felt somebody following her all the time."
