Parents can be more involved in their child's learning process and reflection by having access to their ePortfolio. It takes the parent further than simply communicating with the teacher or even their child, they can really watch the progress and the ideas their childrenare developping.

The ePortfolio allows a child to really express themselves in whatever

way they would like too. The ePortfolio really expands the walls of the classroom.

Students can blog, post videos, projects, and much more. They are then able to choose

the work that they are most confident about, and that best represents them, to place

into a work portfolio or assessment portfolio. It allows students to feel a sense of pride,

independence, and ownership, over their work.

Our students are now born into and surrounded by the digital world, and it is something they use in their day to day experiences. It will no doubt be something that they will use in their future, in post-secondary and in their careers. Engaging them in technology at school from a young age enhances their skills. It takes them beyond working an iPad for games, or using social networking sites such as Twitter or Facebook, it allows them to make use of it for their own benefit, allowing them to engage further in their learning and in their future.
