- The mission of the Dominicans is to preach and to fight against heresy.
- Three prominent members of the Dominican Order are St. Peter, St. Thomas Aquinas, and St. Raymond.
- Three periods of history:
   - During the Middle Ages, the order was just being formed. Through the works of St. Dominic, the order began their works in the community.
   - The next history mark is the Reformation to the French Revolution. During this time, the Dominicans fought Protestantism.
   -The last part of their history is the modern era. They still continue to preach and teach, and are involved in many schools.
- The Dominican life consists of praying, studying, and then going out and doing service.
-  The Dominicans served the Church through preaching and teaching the Good News of Christ.

   - The first main part of the history is when Francis decided to leave his wealthy life for a humble and poor one.
   - Another important part of their history is when they occupied the Holy Land, which eased relationships with the Muslims.
   - The Franciscans were also persecuted when the papacy was in Avignon. This shows that they are resilient.
- The Franciscan life is one of poverty. They also continue to spread the Good News.
