It had been an extremely loving and caring family for the most of his lifetime until time came for him to choose what he wanted to study and pursue for the rest of his life. Since the age of three, his parents have sat him down at the piano and told him to play, and through the encouragement of his parents he fell in love with music. Writing music, making music, singing, you name it, Choi Youngjae fell in love with it. Growing up he had fun entering in singing competitions and piano competitions and won a fair amount and dominated school music programs humbly. Because he grew up in such a family-orientation environment, he loves laughter and loves making jokes around the right people. he loves smiling and was often nicknamed "sunshine" by people he was close with. However, since coming to Keimyung and majoring in music, his relationship with his family, most especially his parents , has weakened significantly. He rarely speaks to them due to the fact that they disowned him for leaving and pursuing something they didn't believe was right for him.
