Being a nurse was one of the most meaningful experiences in my life. I worked during long and stressful shifts, but I always felt proud of my profession.

I remember that one of the doctors said we were essential to the hospital’s success. He said, “Without the nurses, this place wouldn’t function.”

A patient once told me that he had never received such kind care before. He said that I had made him feel safe and supported.

My supervisor mentioned that teamwork was the most important part of our job, and she added that nurses were leaders, not just assistants.
