They both were immigrants when they arrived in the U.S., shortly after, they got their citizenship and started a family. Both my parents started off by living in a one bedroom apartment with an entire family in that one room and worked their way up to starting their careers, starting a family, then moving into the suburbs for a better life to provide for the 5 person family that they created. Due to the fact that there is so much uncertainty in the world, I try to have complete control of the things I am able to. I am afraid of not being able to control the pathway for my own life and end up feeling like I wasted my time. I started this practice when I was in middle school and I wanted to calm down before a race or a game. Over the years I have found other ways that I can use meditation for different benefits, and ultimately, I have discovered that it has made me a better person.
