It is indeed fascinating to see how different individuals focus on driving the (abstract) learning objectives and connect them with something relatable. Being an educator in a very applied field, I always left with an ‘aha’ whenever I saw how concepts of philosophy or maths connected to the real world. In addition, I also cherished every single comment from Bettyjo that pointed out something so obvious, but I was oblivious to them before she pointed them out.

It has always been a struggle for me to make the contents such that every student participates in them rather than it being just a lecture-based delivery. I have had some useful insights from this cohort on these subjects and I am going to make sure that I repurpose my focus on these topics again while choosing the electives. While I haven’t decided on the electives to take, I am going to work with my mentor on selecting them. If my cohort, who might have already taken some of the offered electives, can suggest a couple of courses to choose from, that’d be incredibly helpful.
