He left home as soon as he could and has a policy in which he declines any and all gifts his parents attempt to give to him. Why would he when he can get himself everything he could ever need. He also refuses to be a beneficiary of society, so much in fact that he would eventually die from it. The only way to truly take nothing from anyone is to live out in natured in isolation, so that is what he did.
