They were denied access to the same facilities as the white players and had to stay separated from the others. This game drew a huge crowd because it was of the first Negro League games.

This team was without a dedicated home field. They were composed entirely of players from Cuban stars won this game 2-1.

On May 22, 1938 after a brutal game against the Kansas City Monarchs, we had a loss of 16-1. We stopped for lunch after and the amount of hate we got was insane. Although we played our hearts out and gave it 110%, the Monarchs were known for their strong team and performance a getting one home run is a pretty big achievement in my opinion.
