Martin was on his way home from a convenience store when a neighborhood-watch member, George Zimmerman saw him. He called the police because Martin looked “suspicious” and “looked like he was on drugs”. Then, Zimmerman decided to get involved and follow Martin and eventually ended up shooting him. Zimmerman claims that he was being assaulted by Martin and claimed self-defense, even when Martin never associated himself with Zimmerman.
Social Impact: Trayvon Martin’s death upset many people and played a crucial role in the formation of the Black Lives Matter movement. It brought awareness to racial injustice within society.

Trayvon and Emmett both were racially abused, and accused of something they did not do. They were also both very young to be a victims. How it connects?
Both Colin and Rosa took a stand to raise awareness of the injustice that African Americans had to face. The only difference is that Colin kneeled down to raise awareness about police brutality and Rosa wanted equality.

Social media made this trend everywhere, as a result, intense riots and protests broke out.

All over the United States many people came out on the streets to express their anger and emotions during that day. Leading to many days of sorrow and horror of shootings and violence.
Political Impact: 
The death of George Floyd protests have fled across many cities which led to the action of national guards to take action in at least 21 states.

Political Impact: 
It was a historic moment as she became the first black and South Indian woman to hold position, which truly showed America that no matter what the race or ethnicity, you can still hold a high position. People that believe in ALM think that BLM is bad because they think it is saying only black lives matter, which isn’t true.
