Jodi Picoult does an excellent job of gripping the reader and pulling them into the story from the very first chapter. From her description of the trial that takes place, it is clear that Picoult knew everything about the U.S. legal system when writing this book. The clarity she provides allows readers to understand every part of the legal process and feel like the case was happening in real life. Jodi Picoult also does an amazing job of setting the scene and providing unexpected aspects of development among the characters, adding to the suspense and mystery that made this novel as enjoyable as it was.
