He was the first and ONLY president to be in office for more than two terms causing the U.S. to change how long a person can stay in the office. Roosevelt is known for leading the nation to victory against Germany but died before the end of the World War, he died before he finished his fourth term.

Winston Churchill

Churchill was the British prime minister during WWII. Churchill was elected at the right time before the war because he was a wartime-orientated leader. He promised his people that no matter what he would never surrender to Hitler.

Charles De Gaulle

De Gaulle was the leader of the French Resistance. France had surrendered to Nazi Germany in the 1940s. De Gaulle got permission from Churchill to start the resistance to cause as much trouble for Germany as possible.

Dwight D. Eisenhower

Eisenhower was the European Allied commander of the European side of WWII. Eisenhower had planned large military campaigns such as the D-Day landing. He was very friendly befriending the most un-friendly people. Eisenhower also became president of the U.S. later on.

Douglas MacArthur

MacArthur was the Pacific Allied General of the Asian side of WWII. He created the "island hopping" strategy MacArthur had to flee because of being in danger but later returned in 1944. MacArthur helped rebuild Japan into a democratic nation.

Harry S. Truman

Truman was the president of the U.S. during the end of World War II. He came into power after Roosevelt had a fatal heart attack leading the U.S. to the end of the war. Truman was responsible for bombing Japan, before he became president he never knew about the plan of atomic bombing Japan.

George C. Marshall

Marshall was the army chief of staff of the U.S. during WWII. He later served as U.S. Secretary of State & Secretary of Defense after WWII. He is known for making the Marshall plan which was to help others struggling after the war.

Joseph Stalin

Stalin was the Soviet Union's dictator who was ruthless in getting what he wanted. Stalin made a non-aggression pact with Nazi Germany, the USSR would not attack Germany as long as Germany does not attack first. Stalin and Hitler agreed that they would split Poland into two parts for the two dictators to take, as long as the Soviet Union states their neutrality. Hitler later took the rest of Poland so Stalin joined the Allied Powers.

Benito Mussolini

Mussolini was the Italian dictator who was on the side of the Axis Powers. Mussolini rose to power because the Treaty of Versailles didn't give Italy the land it promised. Mussolini took advantage of this and created a fascist Italy. He started taking land and invaded and seized Ethiopia with the dream of making an Italian Empire.

Adolf Hitler

Hitler is the dictator of Nazi Germany siding with the Axis Powers in WWII. Hitler rose to power through the Nazi Party and rose to be the leader of the Nazi Party. Hitler rules through discrimination against the Jewish people and through the German's hatred of the Treaty of Versailles. Hitler started taking land with no one stopping him only till after he took Poland which started WWII.

Hideki Tojo

Hideki Tojo was the leader of the Japanese military and the true dictator of Japan. Tojo started taking over Asia by grabbing Korea, Manchuria, and parts of China. When the U.S. ceased trading with them Tojo had planned to strike the U.S. but was halted by Emperor Hirohito asking to try and talk it out peacefully. General Tojo was in the process of talking it out but suddenly changed their mind deciding to bomb the U.S. Pearl Harbor.

Emperor Hirohito

Hirohito was the emperor of Japan but was just the false emperor with Tojo being the true ruler. Hirohito had a very weak influence because Japan had changed to a militarist State. Most decisions were made by Tojo only a few times had Hirohito decided such as trying to get Tojo to talk it out peacefully with the U.S. which failed. After the drop of the atomic bomb on Japan Hirohito went over Tojo's head and surrendered which marked the end of WWII. General MacArthur went on to help the emperor get more powerful in Japan.

Francisco Franco

Franco was a totalitarian dictator of Spain that stayed neutral during WWII. Franco rose to power during the Bloody Spanish Civil War with the help of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. Germany and Italy helped with the Civil War on the condition that when WWII began Franco would stay neutral and so he did. Even though Spain was neutral Franco assisted Germany by sending troops and supplies, but never joined in on the war effort.
