Using the Hinge question is a good technique to assess pupils understanding of what has been taught and not what they have already know. We can use misconception of ideas, mistakes or pupils' work as a sample when giving Hinge question. From the sample given pupils can contribute their views on the sample. From the pupils' inputs, we can assess pupils' understanding. At the end of the Hinge question, teachers can pose questions such as
1. I used to think...
2. Now I think...

-I have learnt that regular and frequent testing can increase pupils' learning. By using real-time test, it is a quick way to gauge pupils understanding of the lesson by for example asking pupils to use finger voting. In this way, teacher will know what her next plan is for the next lesson.

There's a need to acquire students' response before moving on to the next segment of the lesson. Time should be given. But at the same time, teachers should avoid picking the same volunteers. Varying the style of a no-hands up is a good way to keep the students focused as well. Instead of having students to answer, teachers may ask the students to pose a question.

It's ok to make mistakes in a classroom. In fact pupils will remember and learnt better from the mistakes that they made and not making the same mistakes again in the future.
