They won't be knowledgeable of what happened.

What kind of education do you think would best prepare students to be citizens in a democracy? Do you think the education Klaus describes would prepare students for participation in a democracy? Explain your thinking. (Why?)

If you leave out simple parts of history, you're leaving the children and the students with not enough facts for them to use to make up their own opinions. What he was describing he was taught was not right because whenever they asked about current politics the teachers would avoid it and the reason why it's terrible is because they're not told enough facts to create their opinion. I believe these things because each human should get to do what they want to do and get to think on their own and not be forced to.

Women got more rights as the war continued and gained the right to vote. The more men were killed or wounded, women had to fill in the place of men in the community.

Why do you think women won the right to vote in Germany in 1919? What is significant about that date?

Women won the right to vote because of the establishment of the Weimar Republic. Women had also been asking since 1910. It is significant about this date (1919) because it changed women's lives for forever and it was the first step towards achieving women's rights.

What were some of the reasons women were more represented in the German government after World War I than they had been before the war?
Due to so many men dying/injured in the war, women had to fill in the position and responsibilities of men. Women gained more rights as the war continued which helped them become represented.

How might the changes discussed in this reading have affected Germany’s universe of obligation?

The changes caused Germany's universe of obligation to expand because it made them accept that women were trying to support the community and possibly give them more power in the community.

Write a brief summary (three or four sentences) of this reading.

Hyperinflation started when the Weimar Republic. The constitution was ratified, the people were happy, until violence, discrimination, and worst of all hyperinflation happened. It impacted the way they saw the country, then the country fell into ruins, death spread all through the country, and it was in desperate need of anything, until a leader stepped up and stepped up and threw the country into ruins.

How did inflation change daily life in Germany?

It made Germans go bankrupt, it changed food intake, the way they looked at life, and the way they looked at their country. It made life harder for them. They were scared and worried about what was going to happen next.

How might a depression change attitudes about “we” and “they”? How might it affect a country’s universe of obligation?

It might because people are desperate and they will listen to anybody as long as they are promised a utopia, in return for support. It affected Germany's universe of obligation by pushing different people out.
