And this is how I meant I learned a lot about the childhood and impacts of someone close to me. Someone who is 15 years older than me and has lived a completely different childhood in a completely different area from when I grew up. This artifact helps me further gain an understanding of my own personal childhood and the memories that I feel are important in my life. I learned and understood things from my aunt's point of view when I had my own experiences that were completely different. Every personal experience ultimately gave me the ability to determine the difference between what was right and what was wrong, in choosing the path I was most righteous. This artifact has helped me gain a deeper understanding of who I am and how I developed around those that I love in the culture that I grew up in. From this assignment I learned about my family's dynamic and culture from an outsider's perspective. This specific artifact has shaped my personal life due to my culture and overtime this tradition has turned me and two the person I am today in the certain religious aspects that I have inherited from my family. This artifact speaks about the Day of the Dead witches are a holiday in my culture that I celebrate,  that no family member has truly passed away however they are with you wherever you go. And on a certain day if you bring them food, treats, things that they liked that they will rise from the dead and be with you in spirit. This is the one day out of the year that they get to walk in the land of the living and be with those that they love one more time before having to return to a spiritual life separated from the land of the living. Which made me think about children nowadays who do the exact same thing, jump on the electronic and ignore the world. We aren't so different after all! The thought of having a companion even if it was a virtual companion made me feel as if someone was dependent on me. It makes me think a lot about today's pop culture which whoever the influencer is is so dependent on its viewers to make content that is made for them specifically. And making me think that it's the other way around for when I was a child. These games created some kind of home for me and made it seem as if it was what I needed. Question that arises whenever I was doing my artifact for when I was young was, was a sinner Lee sign of what was to come? Not creating a virtual pet and raising it or even being able to post on something as early as Myspace and interact with people from all around the world was that must Flash Forward to what might I've been or more like what is now?




1. Webkins - These were stuffed animals that you would collect and they would each have their own tag that you could then sign up on the website and it would virtually allow you to take care of your animal. You were allow to design your own house and play games with your animal in order to win coins to buy stuff for your animal. It was also a place where you could play with friends and visit each others Webkins homes, you could send clothes, foods, and toys to you friends all online. You could collect as many stuffed animals and sign them into your account.

3. Myspace - It was a early Facebook where you were allowed to share music, videos, and photos with your friends. You could chat and update your friends on what was going on! It was an early social media trend that everyone had, it was easy to create an account with simply need just an email and a phone number to link your account. It was a way to keep in touch with friends and stay up to date with that was trending.

Back then in my childhood electronics were just upcoming and social media was just a rumor. However it was the start of something absolutely unstoppable. Thinking how children have at the click of their fingers something so valuable and something so unique that they don't even realize what they're doing. Children now young ages are learning how to use tablets, how to use cell phones, and even computers to be able to access an unlimited amount of knowledge and information. It makes me think about children and how they're growing up being influenced by school, being influenced by their family, and even being influenced by social media and keeping from around the world influence. It makes me think will there be anything more to what we have now or have we reached our peak?

Twitch: It is a live streaming app where children can watch other play video games and they are allow to live chat and talk with them about what is going on. Some twitch accounts have groups where you are allowed to watch more than one person playing at a time, children will get alerts about when their favorite twitch artist is live streaming and can watch the person play. Children are interested in this popular cultural because in Youtube it is the most watched video source which is watching other play a game series or just a certain game in general.


Minecraft/PC gaming: Minecraft is where you can build your own world, or play survival mode with your friends you are tasked with being a villager person you could play with friends and are allow to farm and have pets. You are allowed to mine for treasure/ building resources, trading these resources you find allows you to gain certain material you do not have and doing online exchanges between players. You can also have your own private servicer, where you goal is to build a certain objective which is also called creative mode. You are given all the resources to build whatever you like without having to find them yourself as you would in survival.

The reason I chose this specific article was because it mentioned how my life and my childhood was different from the person I was interviewing. It now only made me open my eyes to see how privileged I almost was, but also how easy I had it in comparison to others around the world. I would get frustrated when I wouldn't get the newest Barbie doll but then thinking and listening to my aunt in her interview made me realize that people weren't so desperate for the newest thing however they made what they considered new with what they had around them. It opened my eyes to my childhood and made me realize that my parents tried to give me the best naked knowing that they grew up in a childhood where they had to make do with what they had. It makes me realize that I was very grateful! and the question that it brought up was how can I make my child's life better than mine? Thinking of something so ancient but at the same time so relevant as racism and how it affects children is something astonishing. All you hear in the news media Outlets is how it's affecting Young men and women but you probably never hear about how it's affecting young children. Children are being made fun of for the color of their skin, the way they look, the way they talk even. This is something that is making our children depressed, fear for their lives that they will be bullied day in and day out because of what they look like and something big can't help. one curiosity that I have about this issue that relates to children is what makes another child want to bully or make another child's life miserable because of the way that they look? Deep down you have to think about whether that comes from the way that that child was raised to be so forward in rude or has another child and racist none the last. Think of something that is so sensitive is being sugar-coated by parents talking about raising their child in a world full of racism, but in other ways they are hiding what is being done to these children and what is being done to their families and how they are put on a Target. talking about race and racism in the center of a child and trying to sugarcoat it and rationalize it and how to talk to your children about certain things is difficult but it's something that needs to be done. It makes me fear for the life and generation that my brother is growing up in. He's a Hispanic American, you keep growing up in the world that is going to judge him? Where he has to be here and be careful when he speaks Spanish around other people? Rather teach your children to love others than to hate them.
