Fact: Major parties can end up dividing themselves over issues the party deals with. If some agree with the platform and some don't, the party can divide itself.

Positive: The section was short and the words the author used didn't seem out of place. I didn't lose focus.

Negative: The section pretty much just talked about the party platforms. There wasn't really too much said about anything else that happens at the conventions.

One positive thing I had learned from reading this section of the Blue Book would be that in both major political parties the national convention stands at the center and is the pinnacle point for making decisions for that party even though many decisions are actually not made at the national convention. One negative thing about this section would be that it did not include on how people got into these national conventions, and it had not elaborated on the different types of national conventions that they hold for each major political party. Finally one fact that I had learned from this section would be that among the things that are talked about in the conventions they also rejoice in the party's past at these conventions.
