It is important to also observe our students and see how they are grasping what is being taught or how receptive they are to the information. Maybe the students are totally disengaged and when you are up in front of the classroom it is something you might not notice. Are the students turn taking? Are the students engaging in the reading? These are important things to look for. Also another concept to think about is, are we as the educators making the goal for this discussion or lesson clear? This allows students to jump over work that is not appropriate for their performance level. And then provides them with the opportunity to access content that will challenge them in the appropriate manner. There were many other ways we learned that we could differentiate our instruction such as anchor activities along with personalized learning agendas. However, it is important to set the students up for success and provide them with activities to choose from. It is important that we use this time to think differently and go outside of our comfort zone; TRY NEW THINGS! WebQuests was something that was interesting to me. Basically all of the information that the students are learning is coming from the internet or the "click of a mouse" as our text states. However it is best to set up a clear structure to this. Introduce what the student will be doing. this could look like telling the student that they are going to be working for the president and should look at ways to lower gas prices. Then the students would be able to explore how to access this informationl. It is also important to note that it is okay to offer students access to material that is offline but providing that to them through the computer.
