God had saved them on multiple occasions, it was only by his grace that they had made it and survived in the new world. Native Americans there are barbarians because they did not welcome pilgrims and shoot arrows at them. These people are willing to negotiate though.

God barely tolerated people. It was only because of him, that you are not in hell already although chances are you destined to be there anyway. This piece of writing is very emotional, with metaphors and similes. It also is very pessimistic.

Both are religious. Both are certain in their ways, and both think you are predetermined. From these two, you can also see that puritans are very down to earth, you know because in Sinners, it shows that they are not guarenteed into heaven for being puritans, and in the other you see that the writing has no imagination.

Of Plymouth Plantation, its basically a journal, there is not that much emotion. The author has no question in his beliefs, as he quickly called the Native Americans savages without second thought. However, later it shows that he and his group are willing to negotiate with the Native Americans, and later puts them in a neutral light.

On From Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, the writing is very biased, filled with similes and metaphors. The writing is more creative, yet much more pessimistic. In short, Of Plymouth is a neutral journal where From Sinners in pessimistic.

From the texts, a few things can be concluded. The puritans were very sure of themselves, and were down to earth for a religion. They were prepared to operate in the worst conditions, and even continued their lifestyle believing they were likely to go to hell.
