Use red colored stickies for students to write what they did do not understand from the lesson and need further explanation; yellow for concepts they understand, but would like to practice a little more and green for concepts they know well. Great way to do a quick formative assessment or exit slip at the end of class.

"Lancer PRIDE" activity

After reviewing the school expectations of leadership and behavior, students were given large stickies of different behaviors and they had to place the behavior in the most logical category Personal responsibility, Respect, Integrity, Determination or Excellence. I Ieft them posted in the room for several weeks so we could revisit them. We also used them to write personal goals for the class. Even though PRIDE does not translate to a similar acronym in Spanish. The words attached to each letter do, so YES we did this in the target lanugage.

Use sticky flags to annotate readings in textbooks where students cannot actually write. Then when students come to class group them by similar ideas, themes or questions.

Students are given low tech stickies as they enter the classroom or see high text "looks like a sticky" on an interactive whiteboard. They need to place them in the correct category such as actions in the ktichen, ingirediates for a recipe or kitchen appliances/tools. Students then read and analize recipes.
