These days, with the use of smartphones people are connected to the internet all the time. In the past access to the internet was only by computer, but now with smartphones staying connected has become much easier.
First, people stay online all day and even if the people are doing another thing, the mobile notifications remind you to go online again, to read messages, see new followers, or new likes in a photo, for example.
In addition, the likes and followers’ number are what move many people, I believe it's a kind of reward, makes the people happy, and creates the false illusion that they are popular and loved.
To sum up, it is necessary to recognize how the internet took over our lives, and it became very important to the work, studies, to keep friendships, and other types of relationship, but we not must live just a virtual life, it is necessary to remember that we need turn off the phone sometimes and enjoy the real life, because the life is precious.

Is it a good idea to have one day a week off the internet?

The human life style has changed a lot in the last few years and that is because of the internet. Nowadays, almost every person has a cell phone that allows access to the internet. Actually, we can´t imagine our lives without internet. For sure, there are many benefits. However, there are also some problems and we can avoid them having one day a week off the internet.

Firstly, having a day off the internet is a good idea to really relax. Many people work on the internet and when they need to chill out, they usually spend more time on the internet- watching series, playing games, etc. This means they never get a time for their selves. I think if you stay off the internet for a while, you'll feel much better. During this time, a good hint is to practice sports, talk to your friends or read a nice book.

In addition, a time off the internet can help you get more organized and efficient. If there is something that make us procrastinate, that´s the internet. It´s impressive how much time we spend surfing on the internet without realize it. So if you have a task to do, take some time off the internet and put all your effort on it. I think you´ll accomplish your goals quickly and better.

To sum up, I know it’s really hard to get a time off the internet, especially during the pandemic. But I believe that you can improve your life style if you have some time off the internet and enjoy things and people that make you happy.

The cell phone is the perfect start for kids. They can do research in an infinite source of knowledge and choose the cartoon that they would like to watch. Nowadays a lot of apps can restrain certain access on the phone, so you don't need to worry about them seeing improper content.

In addition you can improve their security by offering a way to call you, authorities or even track them.

It is a good idea to have one day a week off the internet?

These days, we are spending too much time on the internet, with home office, online classes or spending time on social media. I think it is necessary to do a detox on the internet, social media, work, study and cellphones, to clean the mind and maintain mental health.

To start, the pandemic increased a lot of the time in front of screens, and it isn't healthy. It means that many people are having problems, like headaches, eye pain and needing to wear glasses. For me, this is motive enough to do a detox.

In addition, we can develop psychological problems living on an internet world, with a lot of frustrating news and with all the people happy, healthy and being productive in the social media. I believe everyone needs a time off all of this, to connect with themselfs, look inside, relax, enjoy the family, and if you prefer, discover a lot of cool things to do, without the connection world.

To conclude, I recommend spending a day a week out off the internet, to be safe, and to find things you like and discover new things about yourself.

Do people spend a lot of time online these days?

These days people spend a lot of time online, because technology is more and more present and charged in our lives, whether to chat with family, friends, make new friends, research everyday life, make purchases and bank transactions, download and watch movies and series, games.
Firstly, it is important to be up to date, but for some the simple fact of not being connected seems like you don't belong in the current world, if you don't have an account on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter you are not popular, you have no followers.
In addition, you need to share photos, videos and connect with people every day. For example, technology is constantly changing, so if you don't have a good smartphone or internet, you won't be able to keep up with this innovation, and companies are adding more apps and accessories to their devices.
In my opinion it is good to be connected, as many people cannot even access the internet to work or study, they only have their cell phones for a family with more people.
To sum up, I believe that for studies and for people who have no minimum conditions, the internet or smartphone should be free or affordable, allowing everyone a minimum of digital inclusion, but in a conscious way that it is good to connect, however. life is much more than spending hours online.

Do people spend a lot of time online these days?
The short answer: yes, we do. But what is the reason behind that? In my opinion, the two main factors that contributed for the amout of time we spent online are the Covid-19 pandemic and our aprroach towards kids using technology.
Firstly, and more obvious, it's the pandemic problem. Since it started, we were obligated to stay inside our houses. The alternative found to circunvent that problem was to implement home-office and online classes. So,it's understandable that we spent more time online until the pandemic is over.
However, even if the pandemic weren't a reality, we could expect a rise in time spent on the internet and that is, in my opinion, manly because we can't teach the younger generations to use the new tecnologies wisely. Currently, a good portion of father introduce their children to technologies like smartphones and tablets even before they complete one year. By doing that, these children accustom to use that technology and to stay online for long periods ate very young ages. As these children grow older, this habit tends only to increase.
To summarise, we are spending more and more time online, manly because of the pandemic, wich is a problem out of our control, and because we don't instruct our children about internet usage the way we were supossed to. That in the long run may cause a big problem, unless we start paying attention to it right now.

Do people spend a lot of time online these days?

Nowadays everything people do is online. There is a huge amount of services and basically all our needs can be resolved on internet. Almost every person in the world have a cellphone to keep them connected full time, it brings lots of facilities for one hand but for another have created a new way of life that arrest people’s attention and freedom, developing a necessity to have a connection for everything they need, from work, to basicall services, to humans interaction.
The time people spent connected is the same time they spend awake, but this doesn’t mean that they are aware of the tricks that a full time connection brings to they own lives. The amount of information obtained into ones brain in a day and the attention that a full time connection requires have helped to increase lots of mind diseases as Burn out, Borderline, Depression, and anxiety.
In addition, its important to remember that the 21th century society are affected for the idea of performance, which means that to be a good person, a winner, one must work hard all day, and the concept of being a entrepreneur of himself has brought the illusion of possibility of freedom, when in fact, have created a generation of the worst kind of slavery, that is a bondage without a lord, when the subject turned into the lord and the slaveof humself at the same time. The full time connection allied to the social medias illusion and the running for achieve a lifestyle of appearance have created an empire of monoculture and sick minds.
To sum up, the performance society has to change the values that underlie this interactions, so that the connection is an ally of culture, (bio) diversity, where cooperation, union and harmony flourish.

Is it a good idea to have one day a week off the internet ?

Nowadays, we stay on the internet all the time and everyday a week. We think we can’t miss a thing, we have to be connected all the time. If everyone just counts how much time we spend just on the internet, it will be scary ! And analyzing these things, I think staying off the internet for one day a week can be something very positive for your mind, your health, your body and for your relationships.

Firstly unplugging for one day, your mind will be less stressed with the hundreds of pieces of information that the internet gives for a minute, that sometimes we don’t need to know. It can help to reduce anxiety and depression. You will be more focused, can help you to be more productive, and beyond that you can find a new hobby instead of just being on the cellphone.

In addition, disconnecting a little can bring many benefits to your body. For example, you can use a time that would be on the cellphone to go for a walk, or do some exercise. And there are some studies that prove that staying away from the internet can help you to sleep better.

And in my opinion, one of the main things about all this is that when you disconnect, you can be able to connect more with the people physically close to you, and have more quality time together. It can improve your relationships.

So I believe the internet helps us in many ways, but we don’t need to stay connected all the time in the virtual world. We can take a time to focus on the real world and ourselves.

Is it a good idea to have one day a week off the internet?

The brazilian average time spent online in 2020 january was of 5 hours a day. During the pandemic, with the increase in work and online study, the use of applications to order food and greater online interaction (the only one possible because of the quarantine), ANATEL estimates an increase of 50% in the time of use.

If, on one hand, online life has many benefits, being one of the factors that made social isolation possible, on the other, the excessive use of the internet can bring harm to people. Vision problems, poor posture, sleep disruption, social difficulties are some of the problems that can affect those who spend too much time online. In addition, the longer the screen time, the greater the tendency to overeat and desire unhealthy foods.

Obviously, we can't abandon the Internet entirely. Currently, our work, studies, interactions and information happens through the internet. But shouldn't we decrease our online time? What would happen if we went 1 day without connecting? Initially, we might experience anxiety and fear of missing an important message or email. Maybe at any moment we would want to check our social networks and find out what's going on. But after a while, we could dedicate ourselves 100% to a task, without distractions. We would have deeper and longer conversations with people. We would have a better night's sleep and not be so stressed by so much news and information.

A day off internet can be a great idea for us to learn how to better use this tool and also our time. How about trying an internet fast?
