It was hard to sum up this article but in more than one way it speaks about Emotional connection, almost all of the stories are related to a childhood fear between the three young women. This article shows nothing but Confirmation Bias after Confirmation Bias by having Dr. Weiss throw tons of information at these ladies allowing them to be distracted by their real memories and thoughts. To begin this article has big time Appeal to Authority as the therapist is the one telling the story. Proof of Verbosity is apparent in the second paragraph as tons and tons of information is being thrown at you within seconds of reading the article, thus allowing everyone to be completely distracted from logical thinking and having the information appear to be true. Once the article gets into the process there is a lot of Ancient Wisdom coming into play by the therapist bringing up how the soul is anchored to the body and eternal beings. Confirmation Bias is shown through the hypnosis aspect, in the article it states that as you experience the information and you sense your body wisdom mental pictures, emotions and intuitive thoughts will occur. In the first paragraph of this article I found a relation to Emotional Connection, this girls' friend had explained to her that by going to this therapist she would get to "visit" her past lives, who wouldn't find that intriguing? In the following two paragraphs I found a relation to Mystical Energy because she states when she enters into the office the Dr. put her to ease with her "beautiful, kind energy". As well in these two paragraphs I found Proof of Verbosity as she stated that the therapist was asking her numerous questions about herself which could in turn more than likely help her cause her patient to believe what she is saying is true. Again, in the same two paragraphs I found Appeal to Authority, this Dr. is just that, a Doctor, she could very well be using her position as a way to cause her patients to believe what she is saying to be true. Below you will see a photograph of the actor Keanu Reeves followed by a quote that he has made. This photo clearly represents Appeal to Authority as someone has put together a quote regarding "karma" that Keanu Reeves may have said, however it might not have been directly related to Past Life Regression. Karma is a form of Ancient Wisdom, it is something that has always been believed in spanning to millions of years ago, it is a belief and something that could in any case be cracked up to coincidence. Karma is also a Red Herring, I found that seeing the word "karma" took my mind away from Past Life Regression and allowed me to start thinking about whether or not I believe "karma" to be true. Below you will see a photograph that is a chart depicting the "Cycle of Life", this cycle has no end and no beginning, it ranges from "Life Between Lives", "Pre-Birth", "Birth", "Incarnation on Earth", "Death" and "Post-Death". I believe that this picture shows Patternicity because the way the picture is shown and the fact that there is no dominant beginning or end causes an element of distraction away from the original idea that this is possibly something that is just a belief rather than real. This leads me to believe that this picture also represents Ancient Wisdom because all of the dimensions in each segment of the cycle come from a belief that was popular an extremely long time ago but is still being valued today. I found that this picture also represented Emotional Connection as the more you start to think about whether or not your life has been once before, it starts to blur your rational thinking allowing you into a deeper train of thought. People have dedicated their entire lives to helping others search through their past lives in order to heal something that is possibly effecting them in the present. I found this topic to be interesting for me because I have a lot of very interesting dreams, in some cases I am dreaming in third person and in some cases I cannot see what I look like or I look like someone else. Having these types of dreams has made me curious about Past Life Regression and whether or not it is real. The research I found most interesting was the video on a young man’s first Past Life Regression hypnosis which he did on his own at home. I found this to be the most interesting because there were so many connections between what he claims to have seen versus his present life. I found it very interesting that in his past life he was locked up in a mental institution for having different beliefs and in his present life he is a young gay male where in the past that was something you would be locked up and treated for. From this research I am most likely to remember the images and quotes that I found. I found these to be more memorable than the research because it was a small tidbit of information rather than entire stories about Past Life Regression. The “Cycle of Life” was very interesting to look at and I think that of all the images I will remember that one the most.
