Visitors to Goree will have the opportunity to enter the Museum Maison des Eclaves (Slaves’ House) and enjoy a spectacular view of Goree and the sparkling blue ocean. Named by the French in honor of King Louis XIV, Saint Louis is the oldest European settled city on the west coast of Africa. Saint Louis is considered the capital with good taste. The local restaurants in Saint Louis are the best in the country and visitors are scared to try the fresh local seafood dishes, such as the iconic Senegalese dish, Thieboudienne (savory seasoned rice with fish and vegetables). Senegal Tourism | Places to visit in Senegal | Ntaba African Safaris (I read and then write some of this) I didn't copy and paste

Pink lake

It is a very touristy place since you can see this color so unusual that it cannot be seen in all the lakes. We can see a not-so-usual shallow in its name Lake Retba, but it is better known as Lake Rosa (or Lac Rose). ) for the impressive color of its pinkish waters

African Renaissance Monument

Dakar can boast one of the most iconic and impressive monuments in the world, the African Renaissance Monument. Its inauguration took place relatively recently, in 2010. The event was timed for the 50th anniversary of Senegal's independence. The height of the monument is 49 meters. The statue is lined with 3 cm thick bronze sheets. The monument was supposed to be a symbol of independence and bright future for the locals. However, after its opening, the sculpture was heavily criticized.

ISLAND OF GOREAN

For this reason, the island changed hands many times. At first it was the Portuguese and the Dutch, who baptized the island with the name of "Goe-Ree" (Good port). Some time later it was the British and the French who disputed control. But in 1677, after the French invasion, it remained in the hands of the Gauls for many years until Senegalese independence in 1960. Gorée's location gave the island great commercial appeal. It soon became a base for exporting goods from West Africa to Europe and the Americas. Some of those products were peanuts, beeswax and grains. But sadly, Gorée is best known for having been the hub of West Africa's most infamous export. According to UNESCO from the 15th to the 19th century, Gorée was the largest slave trading center on the African coast. The figure is approximately 20 million slaves who passed through the island between 1536 and 1848. Some historians have mixed opinions regarding the numbers, but the only thing that cannot be denied is that the Island of Gorée was the last part that many Africans saw from their continent.
