Autumn Stewart 2301 - Creation and development of a presentation for the ODP students - They both presented the role of the midwife in theatre for the students and this was very well done ! They showed professionalism and enthusiasm for their role as student midwives.

Black Maternal and Neonatal Health Education Event

Dear all,

If you are able to attend, I strongly encourage you to come to an educational event focused on Black Maternal and Neonatal Health Education which will be delivered by Keelie Grindley on Wednesday 4th March at Teesside University Student Union 12pm-3pm.

This is a FREE event due to one of our midwifery graduates Emma-Bliss Harding receiving an award funded by The Iolanthe Midwifery Student Grant at the end of last year. Emma has created this fantastic learning opportunity for you all to access.

Keelie is an NHS specialist midwife in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Founder of Nya Birth Collective; a consultancy focussed on reducing racial inequalities in maternity outcomes in the UK.

Award winning in her work, Keelie is an educator in anti racist delivery practice and is passionate about guiding midwives, students and educators to understand how they can shape their own care to make a difference
