After earning a law degree from Syracuse University College of Law, he joined the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) at the US Department of the Treasury and served for more than 4 years as a regulatory policy specialist. Louis Skenderis went on to serve as a special agent with the US Department of Homeland Security, where he led complex criminal investigations involving fraud, money laundering, and customs smuggling, among other crimes. He then returned to FinCEN and served as a regulatory interpretation specialist focused on the administration of the Bank Secrecy Act. Today, Louis Skenderis leverages his years of experience to serve as a special agent in the Office of the Inspector General at the US Department of Education. His responsibilities include conducting criminal investigations of individuals accused of fraud related to Federal Student Aid and other US Department of Education programs.
