During the Enlightenment the thought of Merchantilism and a free market began not to grow to power. Smith was one of the main people to argue for the thought of a free market. He tried to show how manufacturing, trade, wages, profit, and growth were all connected to market forces and supply and demand.

During the time of the old Greek philosophers the woman were treated with lots of disrespect. They also didn’t treat children with much respect either, because they had a law that if you put your child on the market as a slave and failed to sell him after the third time he would be set free, and the only reason you would need a law like that would be if it happened a lot.
