         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Treaty of Kanagawa allowed for industrialization to move into Asia.  Specifically in Japan, trade began to move into the country from Europe through the opened ports.  This also allowed them to send diplomats to other countries to help model their industrialization off of successful ones around the world.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The colonization of India by Britain while all of the other imperial countries were scrambling for Africa allowed Britain to gain a lot of economic power over India and the rest of the world.&nbsp; This gave them exclusive access to resources like silk and porcelain which were not readily available everywhere in the world.&nbsp; Now the only way for other countries to obtain it was by buying it from Britain.</p>]]></description>

         <title>1800 - Child Labor Begins in Factories</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The start of child labor brings a new chapter to the industrial revolution.  Child labor in factories is cheaper and there are no laws at the time preventing or regulating it.  The working conditions in the factories are terrible and dangerous with many children dying from black lung or machine-related accidents.  </p><p><br></p>]]></description>
