Cortes chose to conquer the Aztecs because the Aztecs had wealth and Cortes wanted control of it all. Cortes also came over because Europe was to overcrowded and kings and queens brought over explorers to find new land and take over.
2# The conquistadors conquered the Aztecs because an African slave caught smallpox which then a soldier of Cortes army caught it. An Aztec looted his body and caught the disease. Smallpox spread throughout and the rulers and commanders of the Aztec died , also the Aztecs king got hit by a rock by a protester which killed him. They were in panic which gave Cortes an advantage by them not having a commander. The Spaniards had swords, guns, and horses while the Aztecs had bronze weapons and thought the horses were scary.
3# Cortes affected the western world by smallpox. Estimated 5-8 million people died from smallpox. Cortes also affected the western world by ruling. He murdered lots of people when they didn’t listen to him. Cortes brought over a new language to Mesomerica. Some know him as a hero. But, others know Cortes as a monster.

#2 Cortes had horses and guns but the Aztecs didn't, the Aztecs didn't want to fight because the Aztecs thought Cortes and his army were gods because they had armor and they were on horses and armor on horses. But the explorers went to the new world for more resources like gold, silver, wood, or animals!
Using some of our background knowledge is Cortes convinced a lot of the Aztecs to join him so that way he knew a lot about the Aztecs plan.

#3 Cortes conquered the Aztecs with diseases such as Smallpox, Mumps, Measles and other diseases and the Aztecs leader died and didn't know what to do because the leader commands the Aztecs what to do and then the Aztecs died from smallpox.
