Later on her family moved in with their grandparent so her mother and father could devote the profit from the house to the girls (Michelle and her sister) skating. When the girls got better and out grew their old rink they switched to a rink in California about 100 miles away from where they currently lived. As Michelle got better she qualified for national . Michelle got a scholarship so their family wouldn't have to struggle to find money to pay for the girls skating.
