Different populations moved to the cities, which helped the larger companies and factories improve upon their economy, but businesses in more rural areas had to shut down because there were no more people in those smaller towns. Factories have proven to be incredibly dangerous, too. With these larger populations, crime might occur. The lowered prices of food, clothing, and goods made it so that common people could buy most all goods. However, the increase of people living in cities made crime a higher possibility. You are more likely to see or experience a crime when in an area with a surplus of people, like a city, than you are to if you live in a small, rural area with a low population, like the farm life many people lived before moving to the city. During this time as well, many people were moving to the city to work in factories. Many of these factories had unsafe and dangerous working conditions. Especially in modern time, pollution and climate change is a big problem we face. Most of this pollution is caused by chemicals from factories that are released into the air and water.
