Listening and writing as two basic skills of communication are usually combined with each other. To be most effective, active listening goes beyond simply hearing what the speaker says; rather it implies getting the full information conveyed and also doing it in a manner that the speaker appreciates. It helps establish rapport, which is basically respect and acknowledgement of other’s point of view. In an increasingly busy and noisy environment, being able to improve active listening is a very valuable skill both in work and life.

On the said note however, writing is an effective medium of communicating thoughts comprehensively and convincingly. This class helps examine the necessary elements that go into writing: coherence, logical organization, and considerations of an audience in emails and reports as well as in creative writing strategies. Knowledge thereby creates writing which makes even complicated information easy to understand and interesting. What is important in it is not only the knowledge that the writer is aware of but also he/she can touch readers ’ heart anudeau mind.

Listening and writing combined in a way that augment the product of the feedback loop of listening and speaking. This way, writers can go a step further and make useful observations about the audience they want to target to suit their writing better. On the other hand, clarity helps the writers lead the listeners in how they could approach issues in order to enhance the discussion.

In any person’s life – be it in academic, professional, or social setting, the improvement of these skills guarantees synergy, mutual appreciation and productivity. Thus the interaction between listening and writing in the context of growing interdependence in personal and organizational relationships is important for relationship building and goal fulfillment.

Verbal and non-verbal communication

Verbal and non-verbal communication is a two crucial aspects of the communicational process in interpersonal interactions. Verbal required use of vocal or written language to convey information, ideas and feelings. Cognition is face-to-face hence direct, and this kind of communication can be managed to pass certain messages, and thus is important in interpersonal communication, and all office interactions. Verbal communication entails use of speak and write in a clear manner, choice of words and the particular feeling towards the other person.

On the other hand nonverbal communication involves all the communication that happens without the use of words. This comprises of signals such as physical movements, facial expressions, actions, position and even stare. Often use of sign language, facial expressions, eye contact, or breathing can convey message emotionally and systematically than actual voice. For example, when a person inclines forward it may mean friendliness while if a person folds their arms they may mean discomfort.

Closely related to it is the way the vocal and the physical are intertwined. Nonverbal communication is usually helpful to what is being discussed verbally and can also negate it occasionally. For instance, a vacant vow that a speaker makes can be contradictory with their body language. Knowledge of this relationship enables people to enhance their ability to be good communicators because the verbal cues can be decoded nonverbally.

In conclusion, the section has found that both verbal and non-verbal communication are very important. It is only when one fine tunes the sharpness of their communication skills in both context and content that one is in a better place to determine how best to relate to another, share ideas or relate with another effectively.

Information-The interview is a conversation that has been formally organized between two people, most times an interviewer and a candidate. Interpersonal communication is one of the significant areas to benefit from the use of this tool in skill acquisition. It assesses the worth of the individual for a particular job or opportunity and their fitness and standards for a particular job. Knowing in advance what questions you want to ask to be efficient during the interview is only just half the equation; the second part is what you say when hearing the answers of the interviewee.

Preparation is the initial process of a successful interview. Interviewers require some idea of certain aspects of the job requirements and must have a few standard questions regarding the candidate’s abilities, experience, and aspirations on hand always. Common in a behavioral interview is asking about previous experience in other places and this can be especially useful in determining the candidate’s expected conduct in similar situations in the future.

The ability to create a climate that is unconstrained and unguarded is essential too. This can be achieved by maintaining eye contact, presenting good non-verbal gestures, and being genuinely concerned with the responses that the candidate presents. Another special focus of the interviewer should be making sure one listens well to capture any minor detail to ask an intelligent follow-up question.

Moreover, it should be an exchange during the interview process. For this reason, candidates should also have an opportunity to ask questions, so they could see for themselves if the organization supports their beliefs and aspirations regarding the candidates’ careers. Ultimately, having good interviews enhances the applicant’s experience, and the ability to better identify applicants that will be good for the firms, and gives the candidate a good impression.

Since performing business development and strategic planning for over six years, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the growth and creativity of your company.

When I was working for Baking Junction as the advertising manager, I was able to pioneer spicy campaigns that spearheaded the company’s market base by 20% and increased efficiency by 49%. I was able to achieve all these by using data-driven methods. Managing difficult business situations has been possible due to my poor ability to analyze markets and come up with realistic solutions. The actual engagement of the community in Baking Junction works out fine for me, and I would like to share my experience with you to achieve your tactical objectives.

Developing a five-year strategic plan for the positioning of the company to achieve the corporate vision and goal in line with my functional team is one of my achievements. This program contributed to a 27% growth in revenue and contributed positively towards enhancing a culture of collaboration and innovation between departments. Looking at the responsibilities that I have, I believe that my previous experience in creating a shared vision and working in different teams suits perfectly the friendly environment of Arbor Investment.

Moreover, mastering the knowledge in the field of financial modeling and market analysis helps me to make rational decisions for my further development. It is quite good in the use of tools analytical for assessing opportunities as well as threats that the business may come across. In creating and implementing plans, the goals chosen are challenging but achievable. Because for instance, have been very active in engaging our stakeholders in helping in the push for the actual implementation of major strategic directions – which I understand should always be embraced in a position like this – we have also maintained an on-going communication with them.

Out of the ideas presented, I like the idea of digital transformation and that is what I would like to work on. For this reason, I believe that my leadership and strategic consideration will impact Arbor Investment.

While I appreciate being allowed to market myself, I would be privileged to write this letter showing how I can help make Arbor Investment better in the future. I am still waiting for the opportunity to discuss this great opportunity with you.

Warm regards,

Prabhleen Kaur

Prabhleen Kaur
Phone: 4379852217
Email: prbhlenkaur77@gmail.com

Summary

Strategic executive with 3 years of experience in driving organizational growth through visionary leadership, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.

Basically, an effective meeting should therefore meet the intended purpose and should not waste participants’ time. It is obvious that, any meeting should have clear purpose and agenda to have a productive meeting. It is important that each participant is clear on the meeting’s goals and what roles are expected of them when in the meeting be it in areas of decision making, generation of ideas or presentation of information. On this note, one should begin on time as well as adhere to the set time since this way participants’ time will have been valued.

By engaging in active participation with all the attendees during the course of the meeting, observing uniqueness of the attendees, avoiding side issues during the meeting activities among other strategies recommended by Zinatelli. It is useful to divide duties during a discussion, for example, there is a timekeeper or a note taker to help the group to stick to the plan and documentation. Whenever you make a point that might be a bit hard to understand, then it is time to add a slide or a chart.

difícil = After the meeting, send out brief minutes whereby you state the decisions made and agreed, the assignments made and the time frames that were set. The following action items hold everybody to account and ensure that people remain apprised of the subsequent steps. This is a common practice to review the management of meetings to keep them productive and relevant eliminating and minimizing unnecessary meetings. In a nutshell, the fundamental measures of a business meeting include, goal setting and dissemination, participation, and output.

Effective Leadership and Teamwork: Key Strategies for Success

This paper will identify the need for leadership and cooperation in the organizational setting to facilitate productivity in the world today with increased business competition. Since businesses can incorporate a centralized structure or have employees working in a virtual environment, the capacity to drive the people toward the planned goals while maintaining a positive working environment is pivotal for success. In this article, the author presents a review of the pertinent literature that relates to leadership and teamwork to demystify approaches toward developing and maintaining efficient teams.

Leadership, Employee Relations, and Team Effectiveness

One can distinguish that leadership style contributes greatly to team dynamics. Line managers who spend quality time with team members, who facilitate, encourage, and provide support can make a dramatic difference to team integration and performance. The research highlights how leadership that calls for engagement is helpful – a thought supported by the revelation of the utility of transformational leadership. These types of leaders motivate others without attempting to drive performance through monetary rewards to make people feel as though they are a part of something bigger than themselves. According to the Self-Determination Theory, this approach easily focuses on the crucial relationship between leadership behavior and team performance by meeting the psychological requirements of the key staff members: autonomy, competence, and relatedness.

In contrast, the leaders who practice BLM which is defined as the attitude that primarily directs at the acquisition of organizational outcomes can hurt the cohesiveness of the teams. Research has indicated that leadership generated by BLM can motivate teams to achieve their goals although such efforts undermine interpersonal relations and trust. A leadership approach that has a focus on BLM may not put as much emphasis on the tone of collaboration among the group as it will do on performance.

Therefore, although demanding a high standard is crucial to create a better performance level the leader should also endeavor to establish credibility as well as cooperation among the team members.

Communication: The Bedrock of Teamwork

Another one of the main components of teamwork is communication. Managers should acknowledge the fact that all people in the team should have an equal voice and actively contribute to the process. This eliminates the chances of conflicts and ensures everyone becomes a part of and is fully responsible for, the group projects. Clear communication and providing frequent feedback avoid situations, where members of high-performing teams diverge and head in different directions.

Additionally, studies on participative leadership establish that when leaders involve team members as well as offer a chance to contribute to deliberations this leads to improvement of team commitment and performance. The main type of leaders that create such a situation, is when every team member feels esteemed and perceived as crucial to the success of the whole team, which therefore encourages collaboration.

Trust and the Coordination of Activities

Trust is the most important element in all the organizations and teams. Trust is one of those intangible assets that depend heavily on the Leaders to cultivate in their organizations. This entails being honest and revealing many aspects of their life, with the actors following the principles of corporate social responsibility and caring about the state of their team. Positive data include better collaboration between the members in high-trust teams, the ability to address conflicts, and an increase in creative problem-solving.

However, the trust that is required to get the Human Subjects Committee’s approval does not occur in a bubble. It expects leaders to make time to get the team together and to address disagreements while fostering goodwill. For example, leadership styles that incorporate conflict-solving procedures, and group cohesion promotion activities strongly promote the unity of the team.

Leadership and its Effects on Teams

We cannot insist enough on the fact that great managers do not just delegate work but build people at the same time. Management implies knowing the strengths and weaknesses of separate workers and assigning evolution prospects. Training, coaching, and performance feedback are important tools that can assist an effective application of the individual member contribution towards the goals and objectives of the identified teams. Also, the goal definition, assignment of responsibilities and activity, and appreciation assist in maintaining the orientation of the teams on what is supposed to be achieved.

Other studies have also shown that when leaders enable and point out a team, that team will be expected to be creative and produce excellent results. When a leader demonstrates concern for the technical core of work as well as the social and relational aspects then the group can perform both individually and collectively.

Conclusion

Leadership and teamwork do not equal just organization and manipulation of people or wining the temporary goals. On the other hand, OD is about creating well-knit, efficient, and effective groups with the capacity to alter systems in each organization. Employees who work for leaders with high directives and consideration will succeed since the leaders encourage open communication and establish trust throughout the organization. We know from the studies that the teams that are managed with a focus on care, respect, and mutual growth, are the most effective ones. By implementing the following strategies, we can achieve teamwork across organizations, with productivity, protection against adversity, and creativity to match the strategic goals set.

__________________________________.

This article provides an integration of several sources to present broad research regarding how leadership and teamwork can be managed effectively and the specific issues that include leadership behavior, communication, trust, and team formation.

Final reflection and building on the E-portfolio

Fulfilling the e-portfolio has been quite effective and informative in helping me review my career plans, strengths and path in the strive for my dream job of becoming a Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Reflecting back on my work, I am again struck by the importance of appreciating the CSO function in its totality of leadership, idea execution and the corporate sustainable growth mission. Consequently, there is a perfect match between this role and me in terms of skills, aspirations and long-term vision of any business.

Since I was in the commerce stream, I strongly believe I have enough background knowledge to enable me make a career in strategy. I have previously completed my studies in business management, economic and corporate finance, thus putting me in a position to acquire strong and sound analytical skills, critical decisions making skills and brilliant problem solving skills all traits that any strategic leader should possess. They have equipped me with a good insight of how organizations are managed, how they are funded and how firm’s management map out plans and set goals that will help in achieving its noble vision for the future. Actually, these subjects help to develop critical thinking and analysing abilities that are essential when developing a strategy and making decisions being a CSO.

I have been able to concentrate on the specific class, internships, and project where I have utilized strategic thinking and business planning while developing my e-portfolio. For instance, course work and practical work activities enabled me identify key areas of market and competitors analysis, strategic business planning and project co-ordination that act as prime areas of focus of the CSO job role. Also, the specific features included into the e-portfolio as the result of the completed workshops and exercises enabled me to understand the significance of leadership, teamwork, and cooperation in attaining organisational goals and objectives.

But I have come to this realization that a mantle of CSO call for much more than being a holder of technical business information. They are essentially interpersonal communication within the organization, the culture of the organization and working knowledge of the systems that are in place, watts, organizational change management expertise as well as project management. A CSO has to manage interactions with various teams and organizational members, be involved in decision making and ensure that various functions are consistent with the firm’s strategic direction. It also has a need for good management to steer the teams towards accomplishment of said goals, as well as a ability to make appropriate choices while still preserving friendly interpersonal interaction between employees.

There is one important insight which was obtained from this process: communication seems to be a critical factor for success in the CSO position. From learning communication and leadership principles the use of both verbal and non-verbal communication is paramount in sharing ideas, managing the stakeholders, and maintaining organizational rigidity within the functional and cross functional teams. Understanding of ideas, ideas implementation, and rudiment of common strategy all start from active listening, trust and empathy in a work setting.

Furthermore, leadership, and team work, are some of the main aspects whose impact relates to the success of an organization. The way CSO leads the team is likely to influence a lot of aspects within the organization – team performance inclusive. For instance, the transformational leadership style can encourage the motivation of the work teams through The promotion of a virtuous culture and the encouragement of collaboration as well as the improvement of the performance of the working teams. Knowledge of leadership interaction and the conduct of an effective team will be the foundation in which I will build upon in this position. These skills will be useful in managing functional team members, averting conflict in teams, and executing strategic decisions hence broader organizational goals will be achieved.

Regarding the relation between eportfolio development and employee learning, I have realized the persistent learning aspect into the process of creating my own e-portfolio. In order to achieve my goal of becoming a CSO in the next four years I have provided details of how I shall improve on leadership experience, update my knowledge in the current market and gain practical CSM experience on strategic decisions to be made. This has involved networking, getting a sponsor/ a senior strategy professional as a guide, joining focused leadership development initiatives, and sharpening business and analytical acumen.

Therefore the e-portfolio has been a lasting resource in making a connect between my education and my career. In addition to providing a precise list of skills and experience that would be useful to a CSO candidate, it has also been useful in helping me assess my own skills and areas of weaknesses. It remains my agenda in future to work on this foundation through searching for relevant jobs that will improve my strategic analysis, leadership, and interpersonal communication. With these steps, I am in a good stand to prepare myself for current and future challenges and opportunities which the position of Chief Strategy Officer demands.
