When her older sister goes off to college, she gives Mandy a sketchbook and tells her to draw out all of her feelings onto the pages. Well, Mandy does exactly that. She began to illustrate her emotions by drawing monsters that represented her current feelings. One day, Mandy woke up to the realization that the monsters from her sketchbook had come to life, and escaped into the real world. With the help of a friendly monster, Mandy was forced to channel her inner most emotions in order to capture each monster.In the end, Mandy evolved into a completely different person after learning how to express her emotions. This was my ver first time reading this book, and I totally think that this is my favorite graphic novel. Even as adults, I still believe we need to practice some of the messaged portrayed through this novel. Mandy's character did a complete 180 after she began to relieve all of her built up emotions.
