Elton John has been a running influence within majority of my music taste and writing. He has a way of telling stories and experiences of his own through his music with the help of Bernie Taupin as his lyricist. Elton also uses his piano skills to create his own feel to his music, people can tend to guess that it is an Elton John song without actually knowing which is very impressive to me.

Lizzy McAlpine uses a lot of harmonic techniques within her music. This particular aspect of her music was the first thing that caught my attention when I first started listening to her music. She also has a great range of genres within her discography, creating diversity. I now use those harmonic techniques within my own music because of her way of doing it.

Jon Bellion's music immediately drew me in with the story-telling aspect of it. Many of Jon's songs are personal experiences, issues and moments that he shows through his pieces. He is also incredibly talented when producing music too, he has a way of figuring out how a song is going to sound before he finishes, he gets random melodies and concepts in his mind for his music and immediately tries to recreate it. I find this highly impressive and strive to have that much passion going ahead in my music career.

Quoted, “Without a doubt – musically, vocally and visually – he was my biggest influence,” (Daniel Kreps, 2020). It is said that Elton was inspired by Little Richards Rock-&-Roll style, which changed the pathway of Elton's fame as a musician (Ron Drotos, 2019).

He has stated that he is very grateful he learnt classical music while he was younger (Classic FM, 2019). If you listen to some of Chopin's pieces like Prelude in Cm, you will hear similar musical aspects within his piano work that reflect on Elton John's piano pieces too (Ron Drotos, 2019).

She drew inspiration from the “folky-type” music that Sara had written and used that to create her first album “Give Me a Minute”. In quotes, “as what Dilla did and what drew me to him, it was the kick snare conversations, like these beats Db level are not the loudest thing you've ever heard but they still got your neck moving they still get your body moving and it's simple” (Audacy, 2016).

Kanye West is less of an artistic influence on Jon Bellion, moreso he was a lifestyle influence. “The College Dropout” a single made by Kanye influenced Bellion to drop out of his college and begin a full time job while making beats for himself and his career. He stated that he would make music 7 days a week for 8 hours a day, as if his passions turned into his full time job (Varience, 2014).
