• Cute. Very little plot. 
• The old yeller book the dogs were being read is hilariously dark. 
• Why is the bus driver human but the principle is a dog? The driver should be a dog too.
• Good that author promotes the idea that when a kid is confused or is lost that they should find an adult to help.
• Puppy pride posters are so sweet, it's not an obvious reference to LBGT but I'm going to take it that way.
• Little twist of cat bus at the end was funny. 
• Very few words in the book in total would make it a better reading for kids who are only just learning words. 
• Would not recommend for read aloud program since there are so few words and most of them are "Bark" or "woof" but could possibly be used for a puppy themed program.

• The illustration for page 2 gets pretty messed up with the binding of the book. It would have been better if the blue monster was just on one page instead of centered between two pages. 
• Fun way to show kids how they can make stories and collaborate.
• Shows how girls can be brave and smart when facing scary things (hungry dragon).
• Illustrations for each “story” are unique and fit with the story theme. The damsel and the knight illustrations are very whimsical and a little spooky!
• Short lines during “tense” scenes hit perfectly for the comedy.
• I like the interaction between the story tellers and the story characters, would work well for a group child activity to act out the book or to practice different voices for a read aloud.

• Great book for one on one teaching young kids about PTSD and recognizing the signs of it.
• The fact that the narrator doesn’t say exactly what sets big bear off gives the reader a chance to figure it out for themselves (which is what the reader would have to do in a situation with another person with PTSD). 
• Great compassion and empathy from little bear makes him an excellent role model for young ones. 
• Final page that lays out PTSD and how it can be recognized in terms made for young kids is fantastic. 
• Wouldn’t recommend for large group reading or program but would absolutely recommend for parents to teach their kids about mental health.

• Don't love this one. You have to repeatedly ignore what the character is asking you not to do. 
• Promotes the idea of punishments for children who don't listen, even if we know it is an empty threat (without food, time outs, revoking books aka passions etc.)
• Character is in clear distress/upset/angry and you’re suppose to keep going despite it. 
• At best I would only use this book as a tool to show kids why we listen to people’s boundaries but probably wouldn’t recommend, it's much too easy for kids to believe that this would be "funny" and internalize it.

• Ok almost cried with this one. Seeing yourself in a children’s book and knowing kids will be learning to ask questions, be curious, and accepting is a wonderful thing. 
• Great analogy with people and gardens, variety is beautiful and and unique. we all need different conditions in order to grow best and that's ok!
• Very well done explaining in kids terms what some of these mental/physical disabilities/differences are and how the can effect people.
• Heavy on words! Could be good for a program but kids may lose interest in a group since this takes longer to read. Best for those maybe 3-5 y/o as they know most of the words. 
• Would be great for individual story time between parents and their children so the kids can do what the book says and ask questions!

• More poem than story. There is no concrete plot other than seeing the seasons change and how it impacts the main character.
• Good for color identification and how colors can be used to describe moods and feelings. 
• Illustrations are dynamic and flow to draw the eye. Quite pretty!
• Would not use for story time programs but maybe for a watercolor activity/story program to mimic what the book illustrations look like.

• It's just a little spin on the classic stories of Goldilocks, the three pigs, and little red riding hood. 
• The words in the page are big and there are only 1-3 sentences per page which would make it a great book for kids to read out loud to learn. Even More so if they know the three stories this book uses.
• Illustrations are soft color palette, easy on the eyes and not distracting from the text at all.
• Cute but basically just a watered down mix of the three original stories, would recommend if a kid really loved the classics and the parent wanted them to branch out even a little bit.
• Would not recommend for any type of program that the classics couldn't be used for

• Teaches relative size (big compared to ant but small compared to trees). 
• Simple wording is great for kids to practice reading.
• Choosing to not step on ant is a cute way to remind kids that they can hurt things if they aren't careful and to not be mean to small things just because you are bigger than them. Great teaching point if the parent sees it.
• Would not choose for reading program but would be good for parent/child reading or maybe a class-type program to teach relative size.

• Love the cover. Reminds me of the Geico gecko.
• Cute and somewhat educational about geckos from what I can tell. I didn't know some geckos can camouflage like chameleons!
• Nice message that you don't have to be perfect and special to be loved and accepted, average is deserving of love too. breaks down the stigma of "average" being a negative term.
• Very intense illustrations could be distracting but double as a little game of “find the hidden creature” for the kids reading.
• Too much illustration for just a reading program but could work well for a read/activity program. Best as a parent/child reading I would think.

• The use of wingding-like text and old-timey Disney-cartoon-illustration contrasted with Dav’s more realistic illustration is interesting. 
• Great illustration of how not understanding to learning a new language can look/feel.
• Love how as he understands Julie more she becomes more like Dav’s art style.
• Not sure if I would use it for a read aloud program (because how to I say wingdings?!) but great for parent/child reading and learning!
