The racism against African Americans has been, and still is resulting in multiple deaths of innocent people. African American men in particular are losing their lives to uncalled for murders by police officers. This video (along with many other videos that have surfaced online) bring attention to how many innocent lives are being taken. This image is five police officers attacking one African American male. The officer in the green shirt is forcefully pushing the victim's face into pavement. The aggression used towards this innocent, co-operative man is unnecessary, unjust and inhumane. Five police officers do not need to forcefully attack a co-operating citizen. Tamir was a twelve year old murdered by a police officer who faced no conviction in the the minor's murder. The lack of accountability, responsibility and consequences for officers who kill innocent African Americans has made it hard for the community to put their full trust in those who are meant to serve and protect. The lack of trust in police officers makes it harder to respect them which results in police officer's feeling like they have the right to be more aggressive with the African American race. However, each time I watched this video it brought me to tears. The power of music combined with live footage of police brutality, unjust and inhumane treatment of African Americans and unfair racial profiling is a social crisis that can not go on. It is undeniable that African Americans are receiving a lesser quality of respect, human rights and empathy from the police force.
