So when they were finally able to move away they wanted a better life than working on the farms each day and being almost live slaves on the land. They hopped on a boat and traveled away from the strict country and had made a settlement in Montana and back then there was absolutely nothing in Montana but plane grass fields for miles. Since they worked on the farms and so did lots of people. They were not paid well and had to work for many year to save up the amount that was need to be free and move away.  Also the fact that it was very had to get away from that life and escape because it was almost like you were owned by the farm because you had to eat at one point and bring food home to your family on the table.
