I was unaware of the link between war and the origins of the Dada movement, which I found very interesting as although it partially explains the bizarre exhibitions of the Dadaists, (as a response to the situation), it also raises just as many questions. I then used a dark burgundy acrylic paint to add a different element to the piece and make it look less symmetrical, then wrote the names of some of my favourite bands on the right-hand side to put a bit of personality into this artwork. I drew out the shapes slightly smaller than life-size in order to create range in the sizes of the shapes on my piece of paper, then I used the stamps with acrylic paint to reproduce the shapes quickly and in different colours.
