I believe that everyone has a purpose in life and i think my purpose for now is to rebuild myself to be able to be someone that is for and with others. I am someone that always try to appear strong, loud and happy on the outside but I probably am the easiest to break and hurt, I always cry over small and big things alike but with that I am very sympathetic, I will always try and empathize and understand you. I may sometimes be too uptight or "maldita' and bitchy but trust behind this seemingly always pissed off face is a person with a heart full of love and understanding. I am a great listener when necessary but i prefer to yap and yap and yap all day everyday. Basically, I am a very emotional person which makes that my greatest strength and weakness, I easily get attached but with that I also give my utmost care and love. Hence, This is me, this is Jihan a basic, emotional, and loving girl who is always eager for more (that would be it for now...).

We all have those funny yet cringy pictures of ourselves—the ones where we look like we just fought a tornado. For me, those gems came during the height of school stress and group work frustration. Imagine this: hair sticking up like I just got electrocuted with frowns forming wrinkles, and dark circles under my eyes screaming “sleep deprivation”, and an expression that could only be described as "why am I still awake?". The story behind those photos? Endless nights juggling deadlines, managing uncooperative group members, and questioning every life choice that led to that moment. Looking back, they’re a reminder of how stress turned me into a meme-worthy version of myself—but also how I survived it all with a sense of humor intact. However, to lighten it up a bit I also included pics of my attitude era back when I was younger when my parents , aunts and uncles would always call me "maldita". So here are some humorous and cutesy pics from me to you!

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease where the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues, causing widespread inflammation and damage to the skin, joints, kidneys, heart, and other organs. Living with SLE is an exhausting ordeal, as I learned firsthand. My days were filled with countless trips to the hospital, each visit a painful reminder of my condition. The physical toll was immense—simple procedures like inserting an IV felt like battles. I vividly remember one instance when the nurse attempted to place the IV, only for my vein to rupture, causing my blood to spurt out unexpectedly. It wasn’t just the physical pain of needles or the invasive tests, but the sense of vulnerability and helplessness that left me drained. The fatigue was unrelenting, as if my body was waging a war against itself, and each day felt like a test of endurance.

The struggles extended far beyond the physical realm. SLE took a heavy financial toll, with mounting medical bills and medication costs that my family often scrambled to cover. Emotionally, it left me feeling isolated and defeated, particularly as I struggled to keep up with schoolwork. It was nearly impossible to focus on lessons or assignments when my body was constantly betraying me. Falling behind academically felt like failing myself, compounding my stress and hopelessness. Spiritually, I grappled with questions of faith. I couldn’t understand why God would allow me to endure such suffering, and it chipped away at my belief in a higher purpose. The disease didn’t just attack my body; it tested my will, my relationships, and my sense of identity. Each day was a fight, not just for health but for hope. Today I am still in my hard fought journey towards healing and accepting the fact that this is true no matter how hard i try to run away from it.

Since I was young, I’ve always dreamed of becoming a doctor, and the experiences I’ve had battling my illness have only strengthened that dream. Watching my doctors work tirelessly, showing compassion and expertise even in the most challenging moments, inspired me deeply. Among them, anesthesiologists stood out to me, their precision and focus ensuring patients are cared for in the most delicate states. Despite the struggles I’ve faced, this dream has been my guiding light, giving me purpose and hope. I want to follow in their footsteps, not only to help others like me but to honor the care and dedication I’ve been privileged to receive.

Writing news has always been a passion of mine, a way to tell stories that matter and make a difference. Competing in journalism contests has fueled that passion, and while I’ve only reached the regional level so far, I dream of one day making it to the nationals. Each competition pushes me to grow, not just as a writer but as a critical thinker and communicator. Alongside this, being a constant honor student has been both a challenge and a source of immense pride. The late nights of studying, balancing schoolwork with my writing, and overcoming setbacks make earning those medals even more rewarding. Each one represents not just an achievement but a testament to perseverance, dedication, and the joy of pursuing my dreams.

My family is my greatest source of strength and inspiration. We are a family of four: my mom, Keruna Gopela, a dedicated stay-at-home mom who keeps our home running smoothly and fills it with love; my dad, Janus Gopela, a soldier whose hard work and discipline inspire me to stay resilient; and my older sister, Jadzia Gopela, who is pursuing a degree in nursing and motivates me with her determination and selflessness. Each of them plays a vital role in my life, and their unwavering support keeps me grounded, even in the face of challenges.

Though we’re far from perfect and sometimes have disagreements and misunderstandings, our bond remains unshaken. My family reminds me of the value of perseverance and hard work, and they inspire me to keep striving for my dreams. Their sacrifices and encouragement are constant reminders that I am never alone in my journey. Whether it’s my mom’s comforting words, my dad’s quiet but steadfast guidance, or my sister’s example of balancing academics with compassion, they fuel my drive to overcome obstacles and succeed in everything I set out to achieve.

My boyfriend, Noynoy Magno or who I and only I call Bumbyy (this might be cringy but oh well), has been my constant companion through every high and low, and I feel so blessed to have him in my life. No matter how bumpy or imperfect our journey has been, he has remained my safe space, the one person I can always turn to for comfort and understanding. His presence is a steady reminder that love can be gentle and kind, even in the midst of life’s chaos. He’s seen me at my best and my worst, yet he loves me just the same, without hesitation or judgment.

What makes Bumbyy so special is the way he always goes out of his way to make me happy. Whether it’s through thoughtful gifts or simply doing the little things I love, he never fails to make me feel cherished. He listens intently, remembers the smallest details about me, and somehow always knows how to brighten my day, even when I’m feeling down. His love feels like a warm embrace that shields me from the world, and his laugh is the kind of music that makes my heart feel lighter.

I can’t even begin to put into words how much I appreciate Bumbyy and everything he does. He has taught me that love doesn’t have to be grand or perfect to be meaningful—it’s about being there, being present, and showing up for each other, no matter what. He’s not just my partner but my best friend, my biggest supporter, and my joy. I truly can’t imagine my life without him, and every day, I’m grateful for the love we share. So to bumbyy, thank you for always making my mind glow yellow from blue all because of you, you are my peace, my home and my love.

Reflection / My appreciation for Media

Social media has become an essential part of my life, not just as a means of staying connected, but also as a platform that makes my everyday experiences, including school, a lot easier. It allows me to keep in touch with friends and family, regardless of the physical distance between us. Through social media, I can share moments, updates, and experiences, which helps maintain meaningful connections and strengthens relationships. In a world that’s often fast-paced, social media bridges the gap and gives me a sense of closeness to the people I care about, even when we’re far apart.

In addition to staying connected, social media has made my school life much more manageable. From accessing educational resources to participating in group discussions, it provides countless opportunities to learn and grow. Platforms like YouTube, educational forums, and even social media groups focused on specific subjects help me understand complex topics, find study materials, and receive guidance from peers and experts. It’s an invaluable tool that enhances my learning experience, making studying more efficient and accessible, especially when I’m looking for additional resources outside of class.

Beyond its educational value, social media also holds a special place in my heart because it offers entertainment and joy during tough times. When I’m feeling down or stressed, scrolling through posts, watching funny videos, or seeing heartwarming content lifts my spirits. It’s amazing how social media can offer an instant escape, providing laughter, comfort, and even inspiration when I need it the most. Whether it’s a meme that makes me smile or a motivational quote that resonates with me, social media has a way of brightening my day and reminding me of the small joys in life.

One of the most important aspects of social media for me is the vast amount of knowledge available at my fingertips. Through blogs, articles, videos, and discussions, I’m constantly exposed to new ideas, cultures, and viewpoints. This knowledge helps me stay informed, think critically, and broaden my understanding of the world. It’s clear that media literacy is key in navigating the digital age, and being able to discern trustworthy information from misinformation is crucial. That’s why Media Information Literacy is so important in my life, as it empowers me to make informed decisions and engage responsibly with the content I come across.

You've Reached Sam left a lasting impact on me, as it beautifully captures the fragility of life and the depth of love that transcends even death. The story of Sam and the protagonist’s journey through grief made me realize how precious our moments with the people we care about truly are. The book serves as a reminder to never take our loved ones for granted, urging us to cherish every conversation, every embrace, and every shared experience. It’s a heartfelt exploration of how we can honor those who are no longer with us by living more fully in the present.

Through its emotional narrative, the book reminded me to slow down and appreciate the time I have with my family and friends. The connections we form are what make life meaningful, and You've Reached Sam reinforced the importance of expressing our love and gratitude while we still can. It beautifully portrays how, even in the face of loss, the memories and love we hold onto continue to shape who we are and how we approach life. It’s a poignant reflection on the preciousness of time and the enduring power of the relationships that define our existence.

Descendants of the Sun totally stole my heart, not just with its epic romance, but also by showing how serving others can be an adventure in itself. Watching the characters juggle life-saving missions with sizzling chemistry made me realize that there’s a special kind of magic in dedicating yourself to helping people. It’s like, who knew you could be both a life-saving hero and the perfect partner? The show gave me a serious case of "I want to be that person," blending duty and love in a way that made me believe in both. Plus, the romance? Pure gold. The swoon-worthy moments had me grinning like a giddy teenager, reminding me that love can exist even in the toughest of situations.

So, when the real-life couple from Descendants of the Sun called it quits, I was absolutely crushed. It was like my heart skipped a beat—they couldn’t even stay together?! I was devastated. After seeing their on-screen love story unfold with so much heart, it was hard to accept that the fairy tale didn't continue behind the scenes. It was a tough reminder that real-life love isn't as simple as a K-drama script, but it also made me appreciate the love and care we put into our relationships. Because, let's face it, real love is a bit more messy, but that's what makes it even more worth fighting for.
