Sedge is the tallest herbaceous plant that grows naturally in Turkey. The reed beds, which grow very densely and in height, make the wetlands where they grow into the most productive ecosystems in the world. Ducks, geese, herons, divers, plovers, cormorants, pelicans, whistleblowers, reed nightingales, seagulls, spoonbills, paddyfish, terns, all make wetlands and reeds their home.
