I also learned  that it was a humanitarian disaster, Humanitarian means people saving lives or helping suffering people. More than 13,000 had to be rescued, many people were injured. If I wanted to learn more about hurricanes i would look in an Almanac. Florence was a very bad storm but by the time it hit land it was about a category 2 when it hit land. What is interesting is that the water had to be in 70 degree water for Harvey to form. Harvey formed in the Gulf of Mexico. Harvey jumped from a Tropical Depression to a Category 4. Then, when people needed rescue, 30,000 people were waiting in shelters! 2. The vocabulary words that were in this article were VERY new to me. My reactions to Hurricane Harvey is that the people in Houston must have had a very hard time during the hurricane, and that the hurricane must have destroyed part of the city. When the hurricane first hit the coast it was a category four storm, with winds at 130 miles per hour. The next day it was a tropical storm. It rained for five days while Harvey was hovering over Houston. Two dams overflowed, and flooded. At the time 20 people had died. Lots of people needed to be rescued. A lot  of the people stayed in safe houses. They can't clean the city up until the storm ends. After the storm ended the cleanup was difficult. This article was very interesting to me, I might look at more articles on different hurricanes, and I might look in books on hurricanes.
