In order to apply and become a Japanese citizen you must have lived is Japan for more than 5 years, you must be over 20 years old, be of good moral character, financially stable, agree to hold only Japanese citizenship, and respect the Japanese Constitution. When you apply you must submit a application form with 2 photos (5cm by 5cm), you must include reasons you want to be a citizen, a resume, a written oath, description of your relatives, description of how you make a living in Japan, maps of the vicinity of your residence and workplace, a description of your business, a diploma, domestic family documents, proof of citizenship, certificate of employment, certificate of residence card, certificate of tax payments, certificate of your assets, driving records, and others upon requirement. Steps that go with documents required. 
  • First, consult the Citizenship Division at your local Legal Affairs Bureau
  • Collect all the required documents
  • File an application in person
  • Acceptance of application
  • The Legal Affairs Bureau checks the application
  • Interview at the Legal Affairs Bureau (a few months later)
  • Permission will be given by the Minister of Justice
  • Announcement through the Official Gazette
  • Effective as of the announcement day
  • Naturalization certificate will be issued
  • Return your alien registration card
  • Report to the municipal office to create the family registration
  • Change your name (bank account, driver’s license etc.)
Duties and Responsibilities are the same in Japan, some of them are that a Japan citizen must send their children to get educated and you must pay taxes.

Steps in becoming a citizen. 
  • Apply for a Greek national visa at an Embassy or Consulate.
  • Enter Greece and finalize your investment. It is your choice whether you decide to hire professional legal help through this step.
  • Collect the required documents for the Greek Golden Visa.
  • Submit the documents at the local Alien and Immigration Department.
  • Wait for the visa to be processed. You will usually hear back about a decision within 3 months.
  • If the decision is positive, you have to travel back to Greece and submit your biometric information.
  • You will receive a Golden Visa residence permit, which will be valid for five years.
Responsibilities of a Greece citizen are to vote, own property, hold public office, and speak for themselves in court. Duties of a Greece citizen are to have military training, be educated, pay for taxes and serve in a time of war.
