HL: two literacy work about gender equality
Course plan:
Video: Students watch an ads that implies inequality and discuss about why this video is not appropriate;

Discussion: Students talk about the inequality in our daily life;

Jigsaw: Students are divided into different groups and read different graphs about the inequality between man and woman in different areas and share the information with other groups after they organize the language;

Research: Students research more information online to see if there are any changes for the past 10 years in China and their own country and describe the reason. If the situation gets better, what is the reason behind it.

Text studying : Study new expressions, especially conjunction words, idiomatic expressions and practice how to apply it in conversations.

Debate: watch a short video about a debate on if man can wear make up or if man should give up the seat to the lady who wear high heels on the bus/train. (write down the opinions and give at least three reasons) Share the ideas and reasons in class.

Self reflection and make a survey: think about if you actually have bias or stereotype on what a man should be and what a woman should be, where did you get that idea from. Then make a survey about what is the unequal thing happened to them  because of the gender and how do they feel and deal with it.

Writing: write a blog to discuss about the gender inequality happened in life and what we can do to raise the aware ness of equality.

Video making: make a 3-5 minutes video to help people be aware that we might be a person who have the thoughts of gender inequality in our mind and what we might say or do have affected other people in a way we did not realize.
