We can assign YouTube videos to the students.  These videos can be fundamentals, drills, or motivational that can be done when not at school.  These videos can also show kids their own age doing the same drills.  These videos can be used as coaching and mentoring tool before face-to-face interaction.  
Drawbacks would be the same as mobile learning. This learning will allow students to ask questions? We will be able to explain and demonstrate the videos assigned on mobile learning and shared media to the students.  We can improve to the online training face-to-face.

A third reference is an article written by FutureLearn.  The article talks of the shift in learning due to the pandemic.

I have provided three technology-based training methods that will help us connect with kids and keep them interested.
I would like to implement this training into our program for 3rd-8th grade students. They will be able to access these methods anytime, anyplace, and as many times as they would like.  This will lead to pre-training or pre-learning before face-to-face instruction.  
I really believe that if we keep kids exited and improving in sports, we can set them up for success in the future. So we already have a way to implement our technology-based training. We will have coaches and varsity players download videos of workouts, skills, and fundamentals for mobile learning. We will have coaches post YouTube videos or links for the shared media training. These two will set the blended learning groundwork.
